LINSANITY!
As is such with all PGH courses, excellent use of terrain, necessitating all shots. Multiple tee/pin layouts. This is what you expect when playing golf in Pittsburgh. The first nine are all great holes.
It's just too new, MORE THAN PLAYABLE, just rough around the edges.
The...

I saw your message about The Hunt at Deer Lakes. I am the CO-TD with my friend Dan. To play you need two things.... discs and your entry fee. There is definitely a division for you and fun is to be had by all. stay posted to pfds.org because as soon as the PFDO is over (next weekend) Hunt...

the course makes use of the land that is provided... A few of the holes on the back nine are challenging due to layout, setup, and terrain. there are nice views of the crrek that provides a border to the park.
the course has to make use of the land provided, which isnt much. there are some...

"The course features a set of Gold tees, rated at 1000, Blue tees, rated at 950, with a set of beginner-friendly White tees (850) also marked."

School's Bicycle Center in warrendale, PA. They are HUGE supporters of the Pittsburgh Disc Golf Scene and general nice people. I try to support the locals first.

Recreational Course good for midrange practice
concrete tee pads.
all holes run back and forth along a hillside. can get very muddy after rainfall.
this course is good for midrange and long putt practice, however, travel to this course would not be recommended as it is purely recreational in...
Im starting this thread for everyone who has joined and is looking for people to play a round or two with in their area. My vision is for everyone to list where they are from (because I've found not many place this in their profile) as well as a simple means for people to get a hold of them to...
thanks for the info Matt. With that all said, I'll probably just hold off. I am traveling the weekend before that as well so two in a row might turn out to be too much anyway.
Tim, you are from Rochester?.. are you playing in the Chestnut Ridge Open on August 11th-12th?.. I am thinking of taking a drive North to meet some new people and play a new course... would it be worth my time?

Pittsburgh Classic
Knob Hill has a great layout that forces players to utilize multiple shots throughout. With the multiple pin locations the course plays differently almost everytime out. There is always someone to run into and throw some holes with as this course is loved by all the locals...
Deer Lakes is 20 minutes from Knob... I hear all talk of Moraine and Knob, Deer Lakes will stand up to those two courses everyday of the week. If you are truly coming down 79 to play go to Deer Lakes, the par 66 will not leave you disappointed.
my thoughts on our area.... wish I could have posted this earlier.
Schenley - best for its time, recreational use only now.
Knob Hill - world class, still tough at tourney setup. Always fun.
College Lodge - some unique shots, placed on a ski slope hill.
Moraine - New and HARD... this course...
