9:00a players meeting - start immediately after. Check-in begins at 8:00a.
The 12th Annual San Marcos Super Ice Bowl, a stop on the Golden Sombrero Series of Ice Bowls, will be held on Sunday morning, Feb 3, 2019 at Montiel Park Disc Golf Course in San Marcos, CA. This is a charity fundraising event to raise money for the North County Food Bank. We know this is Super Bowl Sunday, so the event will be one 18-hole round of golf immediately followed by a 9-hole final. Also, for only the sixth time in SoCal, this will be a Superclass event! What does that mean? Only larger diameter, blunt rimmed, catch-style discs can be used. All registrants will receive a Superclass-legal, tournament-stamped Innova GLOW Zephyr as part of your entry fee. More info on Super Class here.
In the past we have asked you to bring canned food, but we're not asking for it this year (unless you already have cans in your pantry that haven't passed their expiration date). Why? Because the food bank wants cash. Why? Because they can feed five hungry people a full meal for $1, which is better bang-for-the-buck than you can get buying a case of tuna at Costco. There are other reasons, which you can learn about by watching this clip from Adam Ruins Everything: https://youtu.be/XbYInILDj6Q
Presented by the San Diego Aces Disc Golf Club.
Additional Notes:
* Thanks to Innova-Champion discs for great Golden Sombrero-stamped Zephyrs! The first GLOW Zephyrs ever made!!!!!
* Trophies for division winners
* No mulligans to buy - but we will have a hefty-sized raffle, including some Super merchandise and Schwag from Innova. There will be more - details to come.
* Someone will leave with a basket! The fine folks at Innova are cutting us a great deal on a Discatcher Sport basket, so you'll benefit from that.
