Is there an "easy" way to tell how many reviews we've written in 2023?

Sorry, my question was ambiguious.

I meant is there an "easy" way to tell how many DGCR reviews WE have written as a collective group this year? Just wondering how our year-to-date numbers might compare to overall totals of previous years...

i doubt there's an easy way to for those of us without the database access.

The 2023 top 25 reviewer totals eclipsed 350 reviews yesterday. It requires at least 6 reviews now to barely make the top 25.

Plenty of folks have had a good a good pace of posting reviews through Covid, but no one quite compares to your 2021 ROTY, Shadrach3. To get an idea of the pace of reviewing some of our more prolific reviewers achieve in their peaks, in 2021 and 2022, Shadrach reviewed 212 courses, which is under 3.5 days between reviews on average. Quite a clip to maintain over two years, which few have done at any point in time.

Pizza God gets a silver medal in their 5th appearance on a top 25, and knobby325 gets a bronze in their sophomore appearance.

The top 25 is looking very familiar relative to today at this point, with 9 diamond reviewers, 12 cubic zirconia, and 2 silver trusted reviewers making up the list. This was also an interesting uptick year regarding the bar of entry, with this being the first time since 2010 that 25th place had at least 30 reviews, and the previous few years not being close to that benchmark.

There were only 5 new additions to the top 25 club in 2021, including CZ members lee76007, myself, and dndelli. Silver TRs Mushin No Shin and TRoss886 round out what is one of the most decorated top 25s we have had.

This is also the 14th AND LAST time we will see The Valkyrie Kid on a list, ending a streak that goes back to 2008. It will take a minimum of 4 years for anyone else to match that 14 years in a top 25.

I also wonder how many of the 38 courses kp_1024 and I reviewed are the same (we are longtime friends IRL).

By my count, I'm only 13 away from shedding the CZ label. Though I'm greatly helped with my unique voter count by producing a smattering of reviews over the years, including about a dozen reviews written before 2015.

The biggest change in this update is clearly rodneytravis, whom has dropped 16 reviews this month, and is currently sitting in the top ten. His pace is very reminiscent of Shadrach in 2001. My message of encouragement to him would be, "if you're not first, your last. Shake and Bake!" EspresssoPatronum also made a move much higher on the list and is up to 15th place for 2023.

Thanks, truly humbling. As a semi-professional race car driver and amateur tattoo artist... right sorry, nevermind that. I just try and give courses honest reviews for the common man with as much relevant information as I can. I, like I'm hoping those who read my reviews, want to know to expect when I select a course to play. What else, besides the disc golf, am I going to encounter. And I like to highlight great course designers, or super passionate caretakers especially who are putting in the work to keep their courses clean, fun, inviting, and in most cases improve them going forward. I'm much more inclined to travel, play and respect a hole in the wall course that somebody poured their time and soul in, than the top rated courses on this site. While to each there own, finding and appreciating hidden gems is my disc golf therapy. I only regret not finding disc golf sooner in life when I was regularly traveling all over the world.

I'm holding onto a spot in the top 10 by a fingernail, but a road trip next week should net me some additional reviews. If I could get half credit for rodneytravis (I was the first to mention him as an up and coming reviewer), I might actually have a shot at a podium finish this year.

Shadrach becomes the 4th repeat winner of ROTY in 2022, with HyooMac getting their first silver medal. knobby325 maintains a bronze for a second straight year. This is the only year to date with an all cubic zirconia podium, with DFrah in 4th also being a CZ member. Most other podiums have at least two if not 3 diamond reviewers, unsurprisingly.

While Shadrach has gotten plenty of attention the past couple of years, HyooMac is not one to be overlooked. Having appearances in the top 25 each year they have been reviewing, they have consistently moved up the ranks in these lists, with 2021 being the only slight downtick in review count for them. With Shadrach slowing down this year, HyooMac is currently in the drivers seat in 2023 as we approach the Summer months, with a double digit lead over provisional second place wolfhaley.

DiscGolfCraig also becomes the only person not names Valkyrie Kid to get 10 top-25 appearances. In addition, we see Upshawt1979, wolfhaley, and wellsbranch250 pad their counts at 9, 8, and 7 respectively, rounding out the top 5 all time for top—25 appearances. We also see some older names reappear, with sillybizz making their first appearance since 2014 and magictenor1 making their first appearance since 2007.

We have 6 newcomers to the top-25 club: Gold TRs Horsman, WD09, and Monocacy, Silver TRs lukedpt and kevdiv48, and Bronze TR playrecords.
