Greetings Amelia / Spencer Shank Park Disc Golfers!
For now, please feel free to continue playing the existing course, but you may notice some clearing and may even have spotted some \'chime polesâ€(TM) in the woods. We are working with the Pierce Township parks to renovate, and you can expect the new AmShank Disc Golf Course to be playable very soon.
When you begin to see new (temporary) signage appearing, it will be time to try out the new layout which has a reversed course flow (see proposed layout map, subject to change). So please be careful until folks make the transition.
The old 1st basket will be moved into the woods for new hole 6, and weâ€(TM)ll have flagged and marked Red (Recreational) and White (Intermediate) tees. And the chime poles are for trying out new, alternative basket locations (ringing the chimes equals holing out).
Once weâ€(TM)ve tried it out & gotten feedback, weâ€(TM)ll make any adjustments for 1) safety, 2) fun, and 3) challenge, then do fundraising for permanent tees and signage, as well as alternative sleeves to move baskets around occasionally (in a dream world, weâ€(TM)d look for dual baskets for many of the holes!)
