Executing The Dream

Hey IC! Yeah I snagged her in my boxers before work. Crazy thing I just moved it intio position at 11pm for my buddy and his girl who were gonna stop by today. Went inside for dinner and the local news was showing tornado warnings for town 20 mins north. I rallied up the fam for basement drill and totally forgot I put her in place thinking we'd need a sh!t ton off rain for the creek to come up over banks. It damn rained 2" in an hour and the creek rose 5' in less than 5 hrs to 6.5' when I fished her out to almost 7.5 feet (normally 1.5') at noon. She's back down to 6' and receding when I got back home at 5pm but still is flooded a little higher than pic.

This year is something else. Def a challenge to even try to keep up

Holy hell guys.... should have 11 of the 18 baskets ordered for Shawnee by the end of the week :) The course is really starting to take shape! I've been lucky in having a couple of guys actually showing up to help me get some work in.

I was down in South Shore this past weekend to visit my father in law and was telling my brother in laws about how we'll have a closer DG option for what we affectionately call "the homeland". Closer than Ashland (Armco Park) at least.

Good to hear things are progressing smoothly for you.

Haha... I wouldn't call it smoothly, but it is happening :) Tell your family that I would love to have them out to help sometime :)

Lol. They all live in the Cincy area now except her dad and he's not exactly is working shape. Plus, other than my closest brother in law(my wife's twin sister's husband) I can't even get any of them to help with my place!

It was worth a shot :) Here are a few photos of the holes we have been working on. This entire fairway is now weedeated and actually looks much better than this photo now.

Hole 10 from tee

Hole 4... this has also been cut quite a bit more since the photo. Fresh pics next time I'm out.

Man, cant wait to head out there goose. Sorry I couldn't come out for any work days, my mother has been having health problems.

Appalachian beauty right there. I can't tell you how much I missed the hills, hollers, and thick woods when I spent a year in CA and WA.

Yep... it is really going to be a beautiful course. I can't wait to share it with everybody. The holes beside the creek are pretty special.

Actually, we went with boring innova. They are just nice and bright... Have a good warranty... And they will be around for a long time. Prodigy baskets aren't currently available as far as I know... I believe they sold out of their first batch.

Goose - Looking good and glad to hear you've got baskets on the way, congrats. looking forward to seeing some new basket porn photo's when you get them in !

Started a journal on my current progress so as not to hi-jack this thread from you. http://www.dgcoursereview.com/forums/showthread.php?t=116252

any tips or advice you could give would be great. Ill deff be checking in on your progress regularly, keep executing that dream ! :hfive:

Much more hilly than anything that I know of in the Cincy area. Hole 3 is about 450 ft long with more than 100ft in elevation drop. Holes 8, 11, 12, and 13 are really the only holes that you will notice doing much uphill walking. It is going to be a bear to play.... a blackbear :)

my best is 320 foot with a 80-90 foot drop

the dream here is going along nicely, got a good review to start the ball rolling. Course map is close, hard with it being private land in the country, the maps arent clear enough to see the landmarks. Been out with a GPS, worked a few tee/holes etc just perfect enough to drag it over 1800m in total length, so Im happy with that...considering it was once labelled a short course.

In regards to other people's dreams: played Coyote Trace yesterday with eparr and he could not have been a more gracious host. He guided my bro in law and I through the course and shared a ton of information and insight along the way.

The course was fantastic to boot. Some really well done multi shot holes stood out the most. That and the absolutely gorgeous tract of old farm land he had to work with. Play it as soon as you get the chance.

Got 2 baskets in today.... 9 more by friday. Have 3 valve box covers ordered for the flat holes that get hit with the mower. Also... I picked up a cub cadet 2 stroke weed eater/brush eater the other day. Can't wait to get it out there tonight!

Great to hear all of you are keeping busy building and executing the dream! I haven't seen anything posted by Menacewarf in a while. Is he living the dream now?

I get to meet with the Camp Store of Friday to help them order some plastic for the course :) I feel like a kid in a candy store! So much happening at once for the course.
