Recently herd of a near by park getting a grant to put in secondary concrete tee boxes. Just wondering if anyone knows of grants that can be applied for? My local course need some help and something like this could go a long way. Thanks in advance

To get grants, you usually have to be a non-profit organization, and prove that you're responsible enough to receive it. They don't just give out money to random golfers. Go ask them how they did it and go from there.

Talk to the folks in charge at your parks dept- they may be able to guide you towards organizations working in your local area. They may also be able to act as intermediary if you don't have a non-profit club to work through. In general there are a lot of groups devoted to "wellness" out there with money to give and the dollar figures attached to improving disc golf courses are small in terms of what they deal with.

My club has been the recipient of a few grants. We are a 501(c)(3) not for profit charity. There is usually some sort of RFP/RFA (requests for proposals or requests for application) process where the grant giver will put out a set of criteria on which they will evaluate projects on. You send in your projects and wait to see if you were chosen. We have gotten $500, $1,500 and a $4000 grant before. 2 smaller ones were from Nefa (New England Flying disc Association) www.nefa.com and the other was from Schenectady County where one of our courses are.
