methods for brightening TI discs?

I have some grey, dark blue and dark purple Ti discs that I cant even use because they are so dark. Does anyone have any techniques to lighten up the colors without damaging the feel or the disc? Ideally I would just bleach them all and make them white. I'm not looking to dye them with any sort of artistic design, I just need to be able to see them from more than a foot away.

Can't dye backwards -- once it's a dark color, it can never be lighter.

Dyeing a pattern on a disc can help you find it -- simple straight lines or hard-edged shapes will make them easier to spot.

whatever you do -- don't paint it.

Maybe a metallic gold/silver sharpie could help in a design like Bennett suggested.
