New to Tournaments!

Hello all! I am playing in my first Tournament this weekend. Can you guys list some of the standard things to watch out for? Just want to be prepared! Thanks guys!

Play your game and don't try to do too much. Remember to have fun.

Get there early so you can get a good parking spot and have plenty of time to warm up. Bring a cooler with food and water. Bring Sun/rain protection, rain gear, umbrella. Bring plenty of towels to keep discs dry. Bring a comfortable chair for between rounds. The pace of play at tournys is usually really SLOW so be prepared for lots of down time. Play a few holes if possible. Find out where you are starting and play that hole a couple times. Dial down your expectations. You probably aren't going to play your best round ever so if you double bogey your first hole don't worry too much about it. Mostly, have fun and try to ignore the idiots.

Don't worry about your play. Compete hard, for sure, just don't focus on your results until you're home. Just focus on taking everything in, meeting folks, asking questions and having fun. And if you're not happy with your tournament experience, definitely play in a few different tournaments before you quit. Good luck!
