Osage Grove DGC

Big changes and lots of kudos to the many, many volunteers making this happen: 36 concrete tees poured this week will be colored and sealed, then backfilled. Some amazing new lines of flight (such as the incredible long tee on 12, will easily help make up for the fact that the course lost hole 1 to the park (reportedly because the bathroom and other features will be going in over that way. A new hole was added after the old 7, so re-numbering will be in the works soon. This phase will be unveiled in time for the Course Challenge event 8/26/17.

Beautiful dyed red and blue tees are in and surrounded by gravel backfill. Please try to keep the gravel off, so it doesn't scrape up too soon! Holes here on DGCR have been renumbered (1-7), and current basket locations updated. Enjoy the CCS tourney this weekend!

Apparently the park board said they are no longer allowed to use the long basket on no16, as it interferes with other park venues.

Be interesting to see what the gold distance will be when done....
Well, Andrew has been doing updates, but Blue to long baskets as of right now is at 8,198 feet, and Kurt has been talking about fundraising to make that layout permanent, and rotating a second set of baskets amongst the shorter pin positions. Very, very cool!

Long pin location on hole 16: we discussed this with the parks during the installation, due to safety concerns with others near the pond, we may only use it for tournament play. If we can respect that, we may keep it in.

If you're not up to date on Osage, the Chain Gang continues to improve and maintain, to provide amazing variety. It seems the letter holes are pretty much a fixture now, with dual concrete tees making it seem like they're intended to be permanent. I've gone ahead and asked timg to update the course listing....
