Saving the grass on your practice field

I frequently practice on some ball fields near a local course that are natural grass. If you do this, you know the problem. You quickly wear a hole in the turf. This means you have to move your practice set up around so that you don't have a big hole right where you are trying to plant. Plus, it's detrimental to the overall field condition and it's not exactly nice to do to the other users of the field.

So, I bought this ball golf practice mat. Heavy rubber backing that doesn't move around and nice turf that feels like throwing off a turf tee. $45 for the large size (16" x 25"), but I feel like it's a good investment.

Do you think these would work?

The XL is not as big and costs about $40, but it is tournament legal for those slippery teepads.

I believe the ripitgrip product is intentionally lightweight. It's designed to give grip for one throw, but I think if you put it on top of grass your going to have to put it back in place after each throw. I was using an old car floor mat and it had the same issue. That was annoying enough that I wanted something that would stay in place and not shift too much.

I'm curious if someone already has one of those and whether they've tried it on grass.
