I'm staring up a weekly club night with some friends and I am thinking of setting up a handicap system to help allow some of my less skilled friends be competitive. We are going to be rotating courses from week to rather than playing a regular course. I did find a simple equation from another club that plays the same course from week to week, but was wondering if it could be applied to my plan of playing different courses. The equation is as follows: Handicap=(Average of last 5 rounds-course rating)*80%. I've seen this in small ball leagues too. Any thoughts or suggestions?
