Sheridan,In New Course Coming to Biddle Park

:thmbupitched a new course to the park board 3 weeks ago. Tonite I got the confirmation that it has been approved. This course will be built completely from hole sponsor donations and a lot of local volunteer help. This moved quick and we hope to install it quick, but will have to hit the streets fund raising 1st.
Will be a 2 pad 1 basket course, amateur tees and pro tees,designed by Dennis Byrne.

Better off hitting up LOCAL businesses,less Corp. B.S. Paperwork to get funding. Ask for $750 for each hole. That will get the baskets and concrete for two tees AND Houck designed tee signs...very sweet! They will get advertising for 10/20 years! P.M. Me I'll be more than happy to help in any way.

well a little slow. have secured 3 out of 18.
tough time of year to look for sponsorships
with everyone donating to valuable causes
during the holiday's. figure jan. will be a real
good month.

well fundraising has been very slow. small town and tight budgets.
working different route right now, pitching to a larger sponsor right
now and if that works come back to local with smaller donation and
maybe can get this thing rolling!!

That sounds great! What about setting up a 9-hole temp course and having a charity event to help raise funds? We coud get some CFR discs and collect a $20-$25 donation for them, with the proceeds going to the course. With only 100 discs/donations/players, you'd raise close to $2K.

i will get an answer on tuesday from a sponsor that is looking to cover the dollars needed to purchase the 9 baskets!!

also everything looks good to have a fundraiser / clinic on july 4th at the park with some temporary baskets.

things seem to be looking up!!

received great news today, the sponsor i was working on agreed to cover the price of 9 baskets for the new course.

the company is Drexel Interiors, they sell cabinets,countertops,flooring, and windows. i really appreciate the help they have now given and the course will be moving along quickly now.

looks like we will have it in by the end of july :thmbup:

Talked with Ron tonight and he said he has a sponsor for the Sheridan course. Good job Ron! There will be a 9-hole temp course set up in the park on July 4th for a fundraiser event to pay for the tee signs and tee pads. Perhaps installation in July sometime.:thmbup:

it's go time!

met with the park board again this evening. everything is a go, we will be working for the next 2 weeks to have baskets in the ground and signs at the tees. probably will be fall or next spring before the concrete tees go in, but don't let that stop you from coming out. setting july 4th as a target open date. will be having a fundraiser/clinic at the course which is at biddle park in sheridan. please come out and support us as we make it over the last hurdle.
the course will be ready to play and we'll be teaching a whole lot of new people the game of Disc Golf.
July 4th from 10-5 we will be there.$15.00 donation gets you an innova disc. this is a high volume day at the park as it is on the 4th. come on out play some disc golf and there are tons of food vendors set up that day so there will be plenty of choices for food and fun.

Sheridan Disc Golf Course is looking sweet!

Ron Nehrig of Sheridan has to be proud of the beautiful new disc golf course that he spearheaded in Biddle Park! It is the perfect place to come play in the cool shade on those hot summer days. With so many big trees it requires many different types of shots to navigate the course and has a low ceiling that demands control. Lots of fun to play! There are restrooms and water nearby and also a consessions stand that is open during baseball games. Could there be a new league in sight? I think so!:thmbup:
