So, here I am after too many years at the bottom and near bottom of the Rec Division, rebuilding my drive. At 52, 6 foot and gravity enhanced at 290, I can noodle arm my drives out to a max of 250. I still prefer to throw from a "standstill" as I feel I have much better control but I lose a lot of distance. I am pretty confident that will proper form I can still put my drives close to the mark I want without a run up.

Do I want 600 foot drives? Sure who doesn't? But for me, I want accuracy over distance, but I still want to get to 300 feet occasionally (cake and eat it too). My Home courses have only about 5 or 6 holes that are over 300 (One is a wooded course). I have over the years developed a good upshot game and my putt confidence circle is around 20 feet, out to 25 on a good day and I can make 30 to 35 footers but I still need work there too. (Don't we all?)

So after looking at different threads here and of course YouTube, here is what I am working on to improve my form. First, a big thanks to the creators of this content. Your work and time are much appreciated by me.

Thanks to sidewinder22 to pointing us to the Bradley Walker more snap thread. I had seen the videos but didn't remember reading anything. I do not think I have much, if any snap going on. So starting here seems to be my logical place.

2.) Danny Lindahl All My Favorite Drills

He has a few drills of his own and links to others, Like Sidewinder22 (Seabass22), Heavy Disc (Loopghost) & Richard Hatton:

Seabas22 links: Doorframe drill: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mvGud...
Crush the can drill :https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cfgqN...
Loopghost: Heavy Bottle Drill: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mv8Ti...

3. Heavy Disc Shifting with your Hips

I like this video and I did use it some last winter and saw some improvement, but not enough, so back to see what I did right and wrong.

Now hopefully soon, I will do a couple of throw videos, to see where I am at and get some feedback, then update as I hopefully progress.

When I go to the field or course, should I just take my Comets, Buzzz, Gauge, Pure, Swan and Clozer? Forget my River, Jade, Bandit, Patriot and Diamond during my(RE)learning curve?

Just for your reference; a standstill doesn't reduce your distance all that much, it's really only noticeable when you're pushing ~400 ft.

With good form and mechanics you can easily standstill throw over 350.

Record a video of yourself!

I feel like standstill reduces about 10% if you have a solid foundation of your throw. My throw isn't perfect though but for pretty much all variations of my throw it's been about 10%.

All those drivers you listed are good fairway speed with some understability, keep throwing them. I would just advise against high speed discs or very overstable discs that you "have" to overthrow or throw with flex to get distance...the ones you listed will all reward clean throws, reward nose down, and fly poorly if you torque them. They will teach you about nose down differently than mids and putters. Definitely keep throwing them.

Definitely get some video up. As you know there are so many videos for drills and lessons...best thing is to get some advice about what you should focus on first.
