Happy new year everyone!

As always, I put together a top courses list for the past year. There's an overall list which takes into account every review a course has and then a "2017 Only" list which only counts reviews written in the past year.

Enjoy!

The guys in the local club over at Harmony Bends were pretty psyched to be #1 in 2017. They suggested coming up with a trophy of some sort to display at the course. I hadn't done it before but it seemed like a fun idea so why not? They put me in touch with fallingputt.com which was nice enough to donate the trophy. I came up with a design and I just received this pic of the end result.

Very cool! That course is spectacular in pretty much every way, and quite deserving IMO. I assume they'll mount it on the pavilion by the parking lot, near the 1st hole.

Played two of them in 2017. Hobbs and The Canyons in IL. Both certainly worthy to be on the list. Should be able to get at least two of them in 2018 although the list will certainly change by then. It is a great time to be a disc golfer.

Put a banner or trophy icon or badge or something on the course page. "2017's Best!", or something like that.

No, don't, the unintended consequences might be more threads obsessing about ratings.

That's the plan from what I understand.

Echoes my thoughts exactly. It'd be nice to recognize "winners" on the site, but that would just invite all manner of ultimately unuseful reviews and discussion. :\

I don't think adding a little badge is a bad idea. I mean, it's not like people can't just check the list and see what course was best X year, doesn't really change anything other than offering a bit of recognition. It wouldn't be as visible as the top 10 list so I don't think there would be the same obsession.

Happy New Year! Thanks timg!

Time for more road trips in 2018 since I have only played 7 out of the top 10 ;)

That's actually the 4th course of 2018... unless you mean one installed in 2018 in which case, yes :)

Well, it was opened in 2018! 'Just happy to have another course to play!
