i made the generic distance signs and some dirrection arrows for the map-less...

I assume the course designer felt this would make the hole more challenging, but with all the errant throws it just makes the hole look ugly

One of our local courses has a rule that no player can damage any young trees. Apparently the city of McKinney, TX doesn't care about the older ones.

I've seen some courses put up the black plastic ribbed tubing (like you see on the end of rain gutter spouts) on trees...in the line of fire...

There's a new rule interpretation that says you may use the flight line of fire.

Here is hole 11 at River Grove Park in Kingwood, TX. I played there today and hit the tree I am going to show. This pic is from the tournament in 2008 and you can see the disc the man just through is about to hit that tree:
