I just can't get into a pay-to-play mentality.
It may keep the noobs off of the course, but is that really what is wanted?
Disc golf is a fast growing sport, pay-to-play will put a halt to that. What noob will want to pay $9 for a cheap disc then have to pay another $5 for a round. There are plenty of pay-to-play courses where the money goes to other programs/sports. And you were a noob at one time.
I'll pay-to-play as soon as they charge for the swings, slide, monkey bars, merry-go-round, or teeter tooter.
if the course was still as ghetto as it was pre-pay-to-play i would be the one with the spray paint in my hands (and still playing for free).
if they are using public park space then they cant really REQUIRE people to pay. its a public park.if the course is well-maintained and always carries the vibe of improvement, i cant see what frolfer would mind contributing to their local scene (though their prices seem a touch steep....).:\
You are an idiot. They can most assuredly charge you to play.
I was just there on Sunday, and the course looked better than I remembered, no huge changes yet, but the maintenance seemed better than in past years, signs are really needed (as I missed a hole) but beyond that it's still a really good course.
if people can picnic in the same area as golfers are golfing, they cant kick golfers out for not paying.
youre retarded and uninformed.
/me can hurl out expletives too.:\
what are they going to do? call the cops and have you arrested for trespassing? wouldnt happen.
i speak from experience. if people can picnic in the same area as golfers are golfing, they cant kick golfers out for not paying.
I don't know about arrested, but they certainly can fine you. Here's my stub from playing Bryant Lake last month.what are they going to do? call the cops and have you arrested for trespassing? wouldnt happen.
disc golf should be free
Money collected so far has been used to mow the lawn and trim the course, add wood chips on some holes and install new benches. Those have been vandalized, too, Snelson said.
Pay to Play is where the sport needs to go.
