Where have all the DGCR members gone ?

I'd say there's a significant percentage of disc golfers and posters who are Libertarian versus polarized into liberal or conservative ranks.

The issue being that the majority of current self-confessed "Libertarians" actually hold conservative values and political beliefs.

47 this November, but one of my high school computer teachers got us access to a unix system at TACOM back before Arpanet was opened to the public as the internet.

BBSes were still cooler...

The thing about my last paragraph is, the 95% of people who don't engage in political debates or activism still tend MASSIVELY towards liberal, or left wing ideology. Studies have shown this repeatedly, even before the "middle ground" moved so far to the right of genuine center in the US.
Hell I'm only 38 and I remember BBSs. Not that I got MUCH use out of them... but I used them frequently via my local library from about age 9-11, mostly looking for video game secrets because my parents wouldn't drop the $$$ for the full color game guides. By the time I was in 6th grade though I'd found out about GameFAQs.com and that was the end of my use of BBSs.

Wasn't something like 80% of BBS porn back in the day?

Now it's 90% of the internet.

In the dialup era? Heck no...Took too long to download, for the low quality. If I was gonna waste hours of my computing time downloading files, they were gonna be better than that...

I suppose there were places, but most of the boards I ran or frequented were places where games....fell off the back of a truck.

Spot on. Back then porn didn't have a big footprint on the web. 'twas the era of 1-900 lines and phone secks.
