Withdrawing from tourney.

Back when I started playing pretty much everyone went to events not knowing for sure they would get in. You stood in line with money in hand until the guy said "we're full". :) (or you dropped a check in the mail often not knowing if it had arrived or not)

This what I remember doing back in like the late 80's.
But back then most tournaments had 50-60 players, 3 rounds of 18 in one day.
I vaguely remember working a half day on Saturday, driving down to NW Indiana or Joliet area that afternoon, signing up for Sunday event with Brian Cummings or Gary Lewis, playing a round of random doubles Saturday evening before trying to find a cheap hotel (occasionally got to stay at a local's house to crash on the floor) for the night. 3 rounds on Sunday, maybe get home before 11pm.
