This is the premier course ever created in a hardwood cypress swamp and is really one of a kind. The fairways are carved through this forested area, with the throwing lanes lined by beautiful cypress trees. The park invested significant money to build up the fairways and add drainage to keep the course from flooding.
Updated 4/27/19: The current park hours are 8:00 am -7:00 pm. It is gated outside of these hours. The hours seem to vary often but do have some correlation with the daylight hours. Essentially, you can't just come as early or late as you want to play the course. If you really want to know specific open hours for a given day, I would suggest trying to call the Jefferson Parish parks department.
From New Orleans: US-90 BUS W to exit 4B. Use the left 2 lanes to turn left onto LA-45 S/Barataria Blvd. Continue for 2.9 miles to a left onto LA-3134 S/Lafitte Pkwy/Leo Kerner Pkwy. Park entrance is 3.7 miles ahead on the left. You will pass the park entrance to the baseball fields, then the sheriff's station, and the third one is the south gate entrance, and that's the one you want. Follow the park road to the end, the course sign is on the right.
The nearest known address is 6101 Leo Kerner Parkway although this is maybe a mile or less down the road from the course entrance.
