Pros:

Armbruster DGC is a private nine hole course that plays around the yard of the property. There's a surprising amount of elevation and plenty of well utilized trees out there to force some tough shots. The design is pretty well done for such a small parcel of land. You need to text to gain access to the course. No tee times are required but you need to get the go ahead first. I texted the night before and heard back within about a half hour.

The baskets are mixed out here. They're all portable models that catch alright. There's only seven baskets with holes 1 and 8 and 2 and 7 sharing a single basket from different angles. Plenty good enough for a private course.

Natural tee pads except for hole 8's which is turf and is built up on a wooden platform right along the ditch in front of the property. The natural tees are all in fine shape and functioned just fine. The turf one was well done and needed for the location they had you teeing off from. One tee pad per hole.

There's a great mix of shots to be had for only being nine holes. This was one of those courses where I wished my forehand wasn't absolute garbage. The elevation was unexpected but was also a pleasant surprise. That's what really makes this course as challenging as it is. It's present on nearly every hole and is used really well.

The course will never be busy since it's on private property and it's kind of in the middle of nowhere so it's a nice vibe out there.

Cons:

Not the best baskets. The MVP ones are fine but there was a couple cheaper models that didn't catch the greatest. One of these was the basket that's used on both hole 1 and 8 unfortunately.

The course was a little rough looking on my visit. A number of baskets had grass growing up through the bottom of the cage and the tee pad for hole 8 had very tall grass surrounding the tee pad that nearly interfered with you throw. I'll cut them some slack though since it was extremely hot the days before I played and I gave them an extremely short amount of notice.

Not all of the tee signs were present and a few that were looked to have seen better days.

You have to throw over the road for holes 2 and 8 which isn't ideal obviously. Luckily the road is sparsely travelled due to the location. Still not the best idea imo.

Other Thoughts:

This was a pretty fun course that I'd gladly play again. They don't even charge a fee to play and had no issue with me swinging by to play on short notice. Really good design for a backyard course. Worth a visit if you find yourself out this way. It's honestly better than more than half of the 22 courses I played in the area. Good course.
