Beautiful Site above the wakeboarding

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 27, 2024 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

- Good baskets
- Good tees
- Good signage (really like the cheap frisbees as signs!)
- Good flow
- Good maintenance
- Beautiful scenery
- Private and dedicated space for Disc Golf
- Good variety of holes

Cons:

- Hopefully this becomes a pro in future - only 9 holes yet with lots of space for 18
- Some of the rough is pretty brutal but TBF there are large enough fairways to keep it on the fairways.

Other Thoughts:

Box End is lovely. around 13 years ago I visited for a wedding and immediately saw the potential and tried many times to get a course there since.

We met Josh the Activities Manager at a trade show last year and having played himself he was on a mission to persuade the owners that they needed a course and 6 months later here we are.

Josh has designed the course and on my first trip down pre installation I visited it with trepidation as often the self designed courses I go out and see are, shall we say, interesting.

Fortunately Josh has done a great job using all the features of the land and creating a number of very different feeling holes. The short tees are perfect for families and beginners and the longs are a great test laying probably around 920 to par.

To a 400' plus throwing player there is the possibility to hyzer bomb all but one hole and take the risks out but it's still a really fun place to play. this would be my only reason for not going higher than a 3 star the hole variety is good if you are throwing 300' and less, above that the safe way to play negates the risk elements on all but hole 5.

My favourite is hole 8 , an 100 meter ish downhill hole with the basket blind off the tee. You have to navigate a tight gap about 30 meters off the tee before the land dips away towards the water, looks beautiful and really fun to throw,

Pricing is fair and the facility is great, I am very much looking forward to when this is expanded to 18 holes.
