Pros:
There are baskets.
The course is pretty much wide open, but there are places to lose discs.
Largely unused portion of campus, except it's right between the Football stadium and their workout facility. Watch out for those guys.
Cons:
#4 basket was missing when I was there.
Tee signs on #1 and 2, and a tee for #2, and that's where they end.
Several of the baskets were leaning and/or had rusty chains.
Drainage ditch on #2 and two ponds on course have serious disc loss potential.
Other Thoughts:
Pretty basic campus course on a wide open part of the campus that probably doesn't get too much foot traffic. Its looks like it was a decent campus course when installed back in 2008, but I don't think anything has been done to it since then, except for grass cutting.
The terrain let's you really let the discs fly, so the designer created some challenge with the basket locations. #2 is right near a drainage ditch, #3 is right next to (actually in) a cluster of 2 or 3 bushes, #6 is in a clump of trees, and #7 is in the edge of a treeline. #3 made it impossible to play unless you were right in front of the basket. #6 is pretty cool, one nicely guarded basket.
There's a large pond and small pond on the property, it looks like #4 basket used to be very near the large one, #5 plays along side it and #7 crosses the small pond, but the risk can be mitigated by making the hole shorter. All of those are pretty easy to spot, I was caught off guard on #2, you can see the small amount of water in the ditch by the basket, when looking from the tee, but you can't see the hidden drain (and water) midway down the fairway. I threw my second drive in there and thought it was gone. Came back later after #9 and spotted it in shallow water, another disc recovery!!
I don't imagine this course gets a lot of play, especially after Wannamaker opened up less than a mile away. That's too bad really, with a little upkeep of the baskets, some kind of tee markers and a little redesign, this would be the perfect compliment to the heavily wooded Wannamaker.
