Pros:
This has been my favorite 1 rating I've ever given. The park was pretty nice, the course was kind of fun (despite obvious shortcomings I'll mention later), and it was just great.
You see some old baskets on the main road before you get there, and then by the parking lot. The park looks well-loved by the community, as even on Christmas it was pretty busy. I was however the only one slinging plastic.
The course goes halfway around a large body of water on the outside of the jogging track, with like one and half-switch backs where it goes back and forth then sideways. The holes are moderate length. None very long, some very short.
I liked the overall design around the water, the length of the holes. The baskets, well some of them looked newly painted.
Cons:
Well, there are only 9 holes. Hole 10's basket is gone (from what I hear it was removed a long time ago and won't be back). No tee's, just poles to designate a generic starting area. Baskets are old DisCatcher's, single chain.
Navigation was thus a little confusing, but overall, if your attitude is "go with the flow" you can find your way around. Or look at the map. I still threw at the wrong basket one time because it get's a little crowded.
The busy walking path also keeps it crowded. The course keeps away from it most of the time, but holes 4 and 5 bring it into play, and any hole if you throw bad enough.
Other Thoughts:
I really enjoyed my time on this course and in this park. The course was obviously not super great, but hey, I had a good time. I try to be objective about my ratings, and just as how I try not to under-rate a good course because I played very poorly (which is how I usually play), I don't want to over-rate a course's quality just because I had a good day (though I know I definitely did this for Oaks Park in College Station, and admitted to it in my review).
I would definitely play this course again. If there were any improvements done to the course, especially the tee's, i could see this course rating go up a whole point.
