Pros:

City Park DGC is a great little beginner course but is still a fun one for more experienced players. You won't need much more that a putter or mid if you've been playing for awhile. The course plays in a beautiful but busy city park. There's some elevation in spots but the majority of the course plays flat. Hole 2 is a tricky downhill shot with a right to left downhill slope that is easy to overshoot. Hole 6 is also downhill but to a lesser extent and is easier to range. Hole 5 is a shorty but plays a good bit uphill. The rest of the course is pretty much flat.

The baskets are older Discatchers but all are in good shape and catch just fine. One basket and pin position per hole.

Brick tees for each hole. These are pretty tiny but are more than serviceable for the lengths of the holes out here. Very well done pads though. Level and grippy. No complaints with these. One tee per hole.

Good flow from hole to hole. No need for a map here. Flows very well and it's pretty obvious where the next tee is located. The design is pretty well done to fit nine holes into the space available. Lots of ace runs and pretty much every hole is birdieable to even fairly new players.

Simple tee signs. Small white metal signs attached to a 4x4 post that have the hole #m par and distance on them. Basic but effective. All baskets are visible from the tee so no hole maps are needed here.

Cons:

A couple potentially dangerous aspects here. The downhill hole 2 being the biggest risk area. The hole plays a good bit downhill and it's easy to hyzer out down toward the walking path and pavilion. Same deal for hole 6 but to a lesser extent. If you're careful this is a nonissue but is worth noting.

Very busy park so you'll have to be cognizant of other park users on almost every hole. The walking path weaves all through the area the course plays on.

Long walk, and uphill, back to the parking lot after hole 9. Not a huge deal since it's such a quick play but mildly annoying.

Very RHBH friendly. If that's your main throw you'll do well out here. It is open enough on most holes that a FH is just as workable but it certainly favors a BH.

Gets a bit swampy after rain on hole 9.

Other Thoughts:

Very fun little course but pretty ordinary as well. The elevation is the highlight of this one. Very quick play and one of the better courses I played on my visit to the North Branch area for a couple days. Pretty park and just a fun place to run the basket at. Worth a visit if nearby but is by no means a must play or anything.

Great beginner's course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Mar 10, 2016 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Hole #1 is a great warm-up throw, followed by a long downhill #2. Nice contrast.
Various elevation in play, some up, some down, some level.

Cons:

#4 & #5 play close to private property which includes an annoying, noisy dog.
Plays near pathways, but has never been a problem for us.

Other Thoughts:

It is nice having a course right in town. It is a fairly easy course, but I spend as much time introducing people to disc golf as merely playing, so this is an ideal course for that.

Missed the mark 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 21, 2015 Played the course:once

Pros:

-Very easy, you can see every basket and shorter throws
-A few small elevation changes
-Baskets were in good shape

Cons:

-Layout is not great. Hole 8 you have to walk back through to go to 9. The design is just bad overall.
-Dangerous, teepads are very close to the baskets, picnic tables, play ground, walking path. Its all nested into the course.

Other Thoughts:

As a beginner I appreciated the shorter throws, but also as a beginner with less control I worry about a throw getting away from me. With the walking paths, picnic tables, play ground etc all very close.
One of my friends got a bad case of poison ivy or oak after playing here. I probably won't come back to this course unless its changed up a bit.

Well.... 2+ years drive by

Pros:

The only pro is that it is fairly easy so if you're a beginer this won't be to difficult for you to start out on.

Cons:

There is almost no difficulty in this course at all. Only 3 of the 9 holes are over 200ft, and almost every shot is wide open. I used my putter for the entire course. Also the tees were very close to the previous baskets making the holes unsafe. There is also multiple times you are very close to the path making it very unsafe for passer-byers. Hole 6 throws down the sledding hill and there is a picnic table right in the middle of the hole, which people were sitting at when we threw it. There is poison oak all around by the basket of hole 7 and on the edges of hole 8. You also have to walk back through hole 8 to get to hole 9's tee. The entire desine of the course was not very well thought out.

Other Thoughts:

Having grown up in Cambridge and played all the courses in the area I can easily say this is the worst one within a 30 min radius. I'm ashamed that Cambridge did not put more thought into making this course the best it could be.
