Pros:
Nice park with mature trees and good use of elevation and topography, including drop-offs near the creek
Good variety of shot shapes and distances
Well-marked natural tees that seemed to be in good shape
Quality DGA baskets, including a practice basket near hole one's tee
Navigation is intuitive except for one long walk that is marked with signage
A couple of creative holes that require two shot planning
Creative Texas-shaped landscaping feature on hole 16 is a nice touch
Other amenities throughout the park
Cons:
Two of the most interesting holes, 14 and 15, also require throws over the park road. I waited for cars to pass on both holes.
Creek crossing between holes 9 and 10 and during the play of hole 16 would be difficult in wet weather or with lots of recent rain.
Several of the holes on the back nine are just straight drives to a basket near a tree or two.
Other Thoughts:
This is city park golf done well. The course uses the park well and provides a good variety of challenges. I would definitely suggest a stop here if you are driving through town.
