Pros:
Location. 9 beautiful country road miles from my house (I could almost ride my bike there and I will when The Parklands of Floyd's Fork completes Turkey Run off Seatonville Road in 2015) near Charlie Vettiner Park. Play CV to warm up for Coyote Trace.
Challenging. Even the wide open (due to an underground pipeline that would remind you of the runways at FlyBoy) fairways tuck the basket enough to test your accuracy off the tee.
Well marked. Don't think I ever checked my map. Good logical flow.
Elevation. I put a picture on the course FaceBook page of me standing under a 10 foot basket.
Heavily wooded. Bring your fairway drivers and get ready to shoot the gap.
Water comes into play on a couple of holes.
Cons:
Punishing rough. Keep it in the fairway. It will get better (as with any new course) as players stomp down the rough in common landing areas. I played 3 days after the course opened to the public.
Little bit of a hike between 8's target and 9's tee. Luckily you get an ace run playing the optional 9A in route.
Other Thoughts:
5 star hospitality. Be generous in your (honor system) donations. Eighteen brand new DISCatcher PRO baskets don't come cheap. We played 2 rounds of 18 back to back. I scored a 73 on both rounds. I can't (and probably won't) wait to go back.
