Pros:
- Bright yellow Lightning baskets are new and easily seen
- Interesting use of terrain changes including mounds and tree line to add difficulty
- Good amount of right to left/left to right shaping fairways
- First 6 and last couple of holes are vastly different from the rest of the course
- Interesting basket locations for a few holes makes things fun
Cons:
- Many holes are jammed in right on top of each other likely due to reaching the 'magic number' of 18, creating danger and bad holes
- Weird walks between holes take you back into other fairways and greens
- Mostly just red flags in the dirt for teeing areas
- Navigation isn't easy even with Udisc
- Too many open holes with not enough punishment off the tee
- Long grass and overgrown
Other Thoughts:
This course has some really decent, interesting holes and sections of the course where its obvious they are trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. A course can have as many or as few holes as it needed; the land will tell you how many good, safe holes there should be. This is another case of what happens when you decide how many holes should go into a piece of property before you start designing it. Overall it's playable and not horrible but could be way better as a 10-14 hole course IMO.
