-Baskets are not marked with hole numbers, so it is very challenging to find where you are playing to
-No "Next Tee" markers
-This course shares 2 of it's 9 baskets with Echo Valley (currently the highest rated course in Ohio). This allows for the use of much newer and well cared for discatchers, but it also means that you will be competing with other players on busy days, as well as crossing over the fairway of hole 1 on Echo Valley 4 times. Seriously not a fan of this.
-No signs for way finding
-The course land is poorly drained, so be prepared if it has rained recently
- The margins of the course aren't very clear, so losing discs is a possibility
-Park is multi-use, so be prepared for possible interactions w/ pedestrians

I think it's fair to say that this course was once an independent and solid course, but the proximity and shared space with an excellent course like Echo Valley makes the stark contrast between them even greater. With some simple signage alone, this course would be well improved. With a gentle re-design that takes the course off of Echo Valley's fairways, this could be a good course again. For now, it's best service is putting practice on tournament days at Echo.

Eagle Ridge WAS a 9 basket course (never was 18 holes) in a very large county park. Due to the installation of Echo Valley DGC, in the same park, and directly adjacent, this is now a 6 basket course. I have not spoken to park officials or any of the locals who may maintain this course, but I would be surprised if the remaining baskets are not pulled at some point. Play it quickly if you want to bag it. Kind of a shame, because I actually enjoyed the 6 holes played today, definitely some low ceiling and tight line challenges not normally seen in a park setting course. It does seem fairly well maintained, just not used very much as a course.

>Tee signs-- There are small orange signs on metal stakes (about 3' high) for the first 4 holes, after that, Udisc is needed to get to the right area. The alternate pads, which are numbered 10-18 but play to the baskets of 1-9 are still mostly there as well, but these are simply different tees, not different holes. Some of tee areas 1-9 are 'red', some are 'white'. But this is just a 9 hole course with red and white teepads for each, with no consistent numbering of them. And only 6 of the 9 baskets really playable at present.
>Baskets--6 older Mach's, a couple showing significant signs of aging, but still catch as expected. Basket/hole 7 is now hole 1 for Echo Valley--the position is exact, per Udisc, so the new course simply took over this basket location. This is perhaps the only place where you can play through a course, and the actual course changes right in the middle. The basket for 8 is gone, and while the basket for 9 is still there, the tee area is in the middle of the fairway for Echo Valley hole 1. As busy as that course is, good luck ever teeing off. Technically, one could still play hole 7, and just use the Echo Valley basket.

>Shot variety--Not bad, two holes seem like mandatory rollers to get to pin. Threw a couple light hyzers and a mild turnover shot as well.
>Layout, long walks (inc back to car), loops--One now six-hole loop, all holes close to each other. Teepad 6 is in the field, near treeline to the right 5's basket, its basket near the large spruce tree on the pond. Hole 5 teepad is under a large tree near the 8-sided pavilion.
>Total distance walked--0.8 miles, but did some searching as well.
>Ease of finding next tee--Very hard without Udisc.
>General difficulty--Not hard, but birdies on the first 3 holes are bonus, IMHO.
>Mud/water issues--None seen really.
>Water or O/B to contend with--Hole 6 basket (and nine if you can tee off from the fairway of Echo Valley hole 1) are literally a few feet from the pond, which gets deep and murky pretty quick. Be careful on those two holes.
>Difficult rough/lost disc risk--Small, except for that pond.
>Scrape/scratch risk--Minimal.
>How busy was course/park--Course was empty, but park overall gets very busy.

>Anything unique? I've never started on one course and ended on another. The couple near mandatory roller holes were different.

Signs only have number, no idea where the baskets are since there is nothing else on the sign.

Some of the tees were missing their signs so I made up a shot.

One of the signs was laying on the ground 10 feet from the pad. Vandals / disrespectful filth the most likely the cause.

I was visiting from out of state where we have a very robust disc scene. Without a clue as to where anything was, I had to "wing it" and guess where most holes were. after a few holes, I just ended up picking baskets to throw to. I wish there had been a course map or arrows pointing to the next tee, or anything at all. I ended up playing about 9 holes and leaving. I wish I could maintain a place like this with so much potential. With very little work, this could be a really fun place to play when I get back from Maine next time!

I thought this was actually a really fun course! There's obviously a lot of improvements that have to be made in terms of signage and tee pads. There's plans to add 9 more baskets and im looking forward to see how they plan to use other areas of the park. aside from the tees and signs, really love the holes so it will be cool to get to play 9 new holes at some point in the future.

The baskets for holes 6 and 9 need to be moved back from the water at least a couple feet. right now both baskets are within 5 feet of the pond and if you miss your putt anywhere except the front side, you have a 99.9% chance of going in the pond. I hit chains and ended up 15 feet into the pond so RIP my champion dart.

A lot of OB creeks and paths on many of the holes but in my opinion that makes it more fun (except when you cant get your disc out of the pond). Hole 5 is my favorite. Tee of from the top of a hill and go 400 feet downhill to an island green tucked back into the woods.

The 4 water baskets are extremely difficult on beginners and the pond behind them has eaten a lot of discs, other than that the baskets have fun hole locations.

This is the best 9 basket course I have ever played, the different starting locations of the tees make each hole unique.

The course is well maintained as it runs through Patricia Allyn Park. Grass is always cut. No thorn bushes.

Lots of areas to sit and relax. Lots of trash bins, keeps the area around the course well kept.

Only numbered tee signs, no maps or hole distances at each tee.

Tee pads should be put in as this course can stay pretty damp throughout the year.

Some good elevation changes throughout the course.

Good Variety of hole distances.

Can be a challenging course, #6-#15 are a climb. #2-#11 is a gauntlet of trees.

I always find that the back plays easier than the front.

This is my hometown course so i have to like it. I try to play it once a week to keep my game sharp. I have lost some discs in that pond that comes into play on several holes.

Park setting. Grass is cut low. All tees had small signs (with only the hole number on them). The hole layout is nicely done, and offers the more experienced player with a few risk/reward shots, some low ceiling shots, and holes that benefit throwers with a good forehand throw. Would make for a good recreational course for the casual player (minus the risk/reward factor...more below).

Has 18 holes/tees playing to 9 baskets. The tees are well marked, and there is now a rudimentary map in the Files section. However, the tees are grass. They are marked by a set of concrete markers set in the ground.
Baskets. Although new, they are cheap baskets, and have a single row of chains, leading to discs passing through the chains and out the other side. The baskets have no number signs, and there is no sign to indicate the direction to the next tee.
Risk/Reward Shots. This is a pro for the more experienced player, however, not so for a recreational player. For example, the basket for Hole 6/15 is located about 4 feet from a pond, and the approach shot is looking uphill, so you are unaware of the danger of throwing in the pond. While an experienced player will be forced to choose how aggressive to be, the recreational player, who may only have a couple discs, stands an increased chance of losing a disc. While this type of basket position is ok with me, for a new player deciding if they like the game, a lost disc may be all it takes to turn them off to disc golf. Hole 9/18 has a similar pond problem.

This was my first time playing the course. I noticed in the description that they planned on expanding to 18 baskets, and the last review was from last year, so I thought I would go and see if the course changed. It had not. This course would be vastly improved with concrete tees, new baskets, with number signs, and signs pointing to the next tee, better tee signage (good signs have map of hole, and shows players ponds and other obstacles), and the moving of several basket positions to cater to the recreational player more (4 feet from a water hazard is a bit too close).

Very little traffic. Provides a variety of shots. Nice scenery.

No tee pads. Chains on the baskets are temperamental. No course map- can be confusing for a first time player. Potential to loose discs in the water.

This is a decent course with some potential. Considering this was done as an Eagle Scout project, it's well done. If they add holes, it would be nice to see one or two under 200 ft. You need accuracy because there are plenty of trees to hit. We have friends in the area so we will definitely play this course. If they update the tee pads, I'd definitely raise my rating to 3 stars

2 baskets (4 holes if you play 18) are right up against the pond. Sending a putt into the pond is actually fairly likely.
If you haven't played before, it can be confusing where to go next (luckily, course maps are frequently available near the 1st/10th tee).
Can have lots of non disc golf traffic: picnics, joggers, dog walkers, and children playing in the ravine that is in play on holes 1 and 4.
No tee pads, personally, I'll take natural grass to cheap rubber or possibly slick asphalt any day. GIVE ME CONCRETE OR GIVE ME GRASS -

I just wanted to update this review since it is currently the most recent review. If you are thinking about giving this course a shot but are put off by some of the reviews or the overall rating of the course, know it is in a well maintained park, and it is quite unique compared to other area courses. And while the tees are grass, and there are no "next tee" signs, with the posts you can navigate the course fairly readily. This course is well maintained, fairly long, and as another reviewer states, surprisingly challenging. You may not think so at first, but at the end of your round looking at your scorecard, I'm fairly certain you will agree. And while there are only 9 baskets, the two different tees per basket in most cases make the hole play entirely different. I can't guarantee you'll love the course, but it's worth checking out.

Summer 2021 note: Since the opening of Echo Valley, the Eagle Ridge course appears to have lost any way to play holes after 5 (14): though there are still two baskets by the pond, the posts appear to be missing for 5,6,7,8,9,15,16,17 & 18, and the basket for 6 (15) & 8 (17) have been necessarily removed from the overlapping fairways. Furthermore, though they still maintain the mowing and trimming in the park-like front half, the trees have grown in to such an extent this is in no way a 'beginner' ;layout, in terms of challenge, difficulty, or even safety. If anyone knows the plans for the course (the baskets), I'd love to hear...

Personally, I like a well- maintained park course where there is little chance of losing a disc. If you have a disc retriever for the small pond (you'll putt to within 10' four times!), you're good to go. Take it as a pro or a con, Eagle Ridge was designed in the back of Patricia Allyn Park (on route 48, north of Lebanon, OH) with obstacles, tight or low lines and actual risk/ reward opportunities. You're either going to face disc-grabbing cypress trees, challenging gaps, or going in the drink, on nearly every hole.

There are two sets of tees (each marked by a pair of ground-level blocks) and nine baskets. Starting at the course sign just left of the shelter, first consult the map for layout, then look for the small orange tee markers for the first nine, and come back around for the yellow markers for the 'back nine'.

Holes 1 and 2 (add nine all the way through: the second tees change some shot angles) start you into the cypress grove, 3 and 4 cross a small, pretty drainage creek (with 4's basket precariously close to the ditch), and 5 hyzers (rhbh) across a beautifully built (Eagle Scout project) bridge, to a basket just inside the woods. 6 is a long-arm uphill hole finishing behind a pine tree and just 8 feet from the pond. 7 is a reachable 330' glide downhill (stay right if you go short), that just barely enters the woods again, and 8 shoots out from the edge of the woods into a small glade. You finish on 9 (18) between a pair of pines and again about 7' from the pond.

This park has all the amenities, and is very clean and well-maintained. The disc golf is set apart from most of the other activities, though there does appear to be a nice trail back in the woods to the right. You usually won't have to wait on non-DGers to clear the area.

18 chains are nice on a basket, but the single ring of them allows cut-throughs if you putt strong. Tees are natural turf (though they don't yet seem to be overly worn in). There are no distance markers.

The flow of the course runs in a bit of a figure-8, so going from 4/13 to 5/14 crosses the 1/10 fairway.

If you're not up to shaping lines carefully, keeping your lines below overhanging branches, and still being able to shoot well between 250' and 350', this course could eat your lunch! And if you stress out putting toward water, this might not be your cup of tea.

The front and back nine were designed to have some balance, but as you go around twice, you can either play it as designed with a mix of long and short tees, or (if you brought less experienced players) you might want to play the nine shorter tees.

The park appears to have a lot of potential for more holes, incorporating more of the woods, or even out along the sides, where there's still lots of room. A simple shot over the pond as you walk back to the beginning would be neat.

Decent, scenic mostly open 18 hole course in springboro. good challenge, not too difficult though, the pond shot is a tough one.

The course area very well maintained and mostly away from the other park activities. This is an Eagle Scout Project and I think they did a great job.

There are some long open holes to work on your distance game.

The course is played as 18 holes, using 9 baskets.

The water hazards (baskets right next to the pond) are very risky but it adds more challenge that I thought the course needed.

I rarely found the tee area even when using the course map. There are supposedly brick markers flush with the ground. Navigation was very frustrating and most times I just picked a place to tee off from based on the map.

The course is located at the backside of Patricia Allyn Park.

Tee signs would be a big upgrade for orienteering the course.

If there were less navigation frustrations I would gladly raise my rating. The Scouts did a nice job, I definitely respect their work here.

This course has amazing potential within an even more amazing park setting. The tee box markers were easy to find at first, but after 5 holes, we only found one more marker, so we just played basically from basket to basket.

The baskets for holes 6 and 9 need to be moved away from the pond. Each b asket has a grouping of pine trees in front of them. If the basket was moved up into the middle of the trees, the holes would be awesome! As they are now, you cannot afford to go for the pin due the the extreme risk of landing in the pond.

With some maturity and additional upgrades, this course could easily be rated 3.5-4.0 in my opinion. Great job for an Eagle Scout project. Thanks guys! Keep up the great work!

Nice baskets and a friendly park setting.

VERY confusing. There are no tee pads, and no signs. The tees are marked by little squares in the ground with the hole number on one of the squares, and with small flags that stick out of the ground. The flags are very hard to see from the previous hole and aren't even there on a lot of holes. There is no tee pad at all, just the grass. A lot of the baskets are used for more than one hole which also is a little confusing.

Hard to know where to throw from or which baskets to throw to. I got really turned around after about hole 8, and decided to just make up holes as I went. This course has potential, but isn't worth playing as is. Improvements are definitely needed.

I was in Scouts when I was younger so I understand how the whole Eagle Scout Project thing works. This course was probably designed by a 17 year old with assistance from his family, the people working on it were members of his troop and their families with very limited funds and resources.

Rating it solely as an Eagle Scout project it would get a 4 or a 4.5. But can it compete with a tournament quality course run and funded by a State Park or a Disc Golf Organization, the answer is no but it's not fair to hold this course to that standard. It's a fantastic course when you consider what they had to work with

The course is mostly in an open field with a pond, a small creek, scattered trees all around. It's a very nice park and it's well taken care off and some of the holes are really fun

It can be hard to navigate, I spent a lot of time walking around looking for the square bricks that had the hole numbers on them. Also many of the hole have multiple hole numbers for each pin (hole 10 shares a basket with hole 1 and so on)

But it's nice course in a nice park. go there with you family, hit the playground, have a picnic. Make a day of it. I wouldn't travel any major distances to get to this one but it's very nice
