Pros:
Tons of variety on this course: you've got manicured park areas through old growth trees, wide open uphill and downhill bomber holes, short drives over water, hillside tunnels, and some classic wooded fairways.
The park holes are pristine and fun with well-designed elevation changes and some stout old guardian trees. The wooded holes are scraggly and full of underbrush to keep you on your toes. Multiple pin placements up the repeat play factor, which helps cancel out the grip, rip, repeat feel of the back nine open bomber holes. The signature hole for me was the downhill run next to the dam. I always feel I should shoot better than I do, but damn if it isn't fun to let fly down the hill.
Navigation is pretty straightforward, though it does help to have the map or an app with directions.
You have the amenities of a city park on the latter half of the back nine with some playgrounds, water fountains, restrooms, etc.
Cons:
While water is in play on a couple of holes, they aren't really dangerous for the most part. The OB of the yard next to hole 1 was a bigger issue than that water, IMO. The walking trail is in play on the first few holes and the park street is in play on a couple others. Just be mindful of other park goers and it's not a big deal.
Distances aren't overwhelming for any experienced player and won't crush dreams for beginners, but pro arms will handle this course with ease.
While some consider it a pro, others may consider the hiking aspect of the wooded holes more of a con. Bring water and good shoes for the rocky slope. You'll need the water as you bake in the no-shade portion of the course that kicks off the back nine.
Signage is pretty basic as I recall (but it's been a minute since I played) and while there are rocks to take a break on on some of the wooded holes, there aren't dedicated benches.
Other Thoughts:
Super easy access from I-40 and a really fun course. I've stopped by on multiple occasions and drug the family around once or twice. Even if they aren't down to throw, they have other options. Wear good shoes, challenge yourself, and hydrate. Highly recommend this course.
