Pros:
Nice new baskets with hole numbers on them.
Lots of trees
A little elevation
Cons:
Tee's were marked with just flags when I played it. (That may have changed in the last year)
Other Thoughts:
A funny thing happened on the way to the Disc Golf course. I had made my route earlier in the week, when I went to UDisc to get directions from one course to the other, I see a new basket between me and that other course. Turns out this course had been added to UDisc in the last few days. So of course I stopped in to check it out.
The High School and Middle School are both on a hill on the edge of town. The course is pretty much next to the middle school. It's in a nice grove of old oak trees. The tree's are used well giving you a nice mix of straight, hyzer and turnover shots. All the holes are pitch and putt, but then it's a Middle School course, they should be.
For me, it was an ace race course. I threw 2 to 4 shots at every basket and even hit metal at least 2 times from what I remember. Being on the side of a hill, there is some elevation but not too extreme.
I even saw a family out with one disc each playing the course. The course map was not on UDisc, but I was able to figure it out with the flags pretty quick.
This little course is perfect for a school yard course. Might be one of the best school yard courses I have ever played. Great course to bring kids or new players out for the first time. If you want more challenge, just head south to the other courses, they are challenging.
Would I play here again? If I lived locally, I might to work on short game. But no, if I was in town and wanted to play a round of golf I am heading over to Nichols Park and play one of the courses there.
