Pros:
The course is on the south side of Memphis Lake. The terrain is rolling hills, lightly wooded. Players who appreciate rural scenery will enjoy this course. The course is maintained by the City of Memphis. The baskets are blue Dynamic and are all in good condition. For each basket there are two concrete tee pads, and at each tee pad there is a sign that displays a map, par, and amount of feet. I found it easy to locate the next tee after each basket. The fairways were all mowed when I played. There is a variety of shots, with some being long distance open area shots, while others being through narrow wooded paths.
Cons:
The only con I considered is that there is a gravel road that runs along the southern border of the course, and a couple of baskets and fairways are close enough to the road that the player will have to deal with a cloud of dust if a vehicle happens to drive by. Other than that, there was nothing else about the course that I did not like.
Other Thoughts:
Memphis, Missouri is the county seat of Scotland County. The town of Memphis has a population of 1,822 and the population of Scotland County is fewer than 5,000. For a small town course, this course has an impressive layout and was well maintained. It was well worth the visit.
