Pros:
Lions Town & Country Park is a pretty, green park with all these lovely rolling hills and 100's of trees .
The course has a course map at the beginning. It has these great colored, fiberglass tee signs. They give you all the information you need but unfortunately they are attached to trees so I found them a little bit more difficult to locate as this park has about a million trees. I had a really difficult time trying to navigate this course starting right at the beginning. The first sign I actually found was the # 3 sign. I guess I wasn't looking for tee signs in the trees. It actually was a great sign with all the needed information on it.
There are no tee pads. Many times, you are teeing off the sidewalks.
The course has nice Innova baskets with the yellow band. I did find a white arrow painted on the grass. It help lead me to # 6 which is a straight 360' Par 4. # 7 was a little Par 2 180' ACE run. I then found a very faint white tee box painted on the grass.
# 5 was my favorite hole here. It's 273' (or 91 yards) to a basket set down in a valley of smallish trees. You really have to keep your drive low here on this very pretty little hole.
# 7 is a 348' (116 yards) (Remember what I taught you students) downhill shot. It's a possibly fun ACE run for those possessing a decent arm.
# 9 is a 357' (I've given up trying to educate you fellows) with dangers on both sides. There is a parking lot on your right and a ball field on your left. Stay in the middle, please.
The course loops back to the beginning.
Cons:
Course was a nightmare for me to navigate.
No tee pads or signs. Some helpful arrows painted on the grass helped a little but they're fading.
The closet basket to the beginning has a # 18 on it. Isn't this a 9 hole course?
Pars listed are for children like 180' Par 4.
Other Thoughts:
Adding some concrete tee pads would go a long way toward pleasing most disc golfers.
This is really a fine course for a course, nice and shady in this hot country but this course with no tee pads, signs in the trees and a few painted arrows on the grass.
A next arrow signing hanging from the chains would be a great help here. This course is such a waste of the City's and Park's and Rec Department's budget. Next time, get some advice from someone is in the disc golf community.
