Pros:
This 9 hole course is in a well-maintained small city park that shockingly (for a 9 holer) requires you to bring out the big drives. 99.9% of this course is flat and there are not many trees.
The overall layout of this course is rather poor (see cons) but I do have to give the designer credit for trying to maximize the few available trees in this park. This calls for some variation in the throw choices needed per hole.
The teepads are grass but the tee signs are adequate enough to be able to easily navigate each hole. The baskets are in good shape as well.
I did enjoy the length of most of these holes for being a 9 hole course. Pull out the drivers and rip it.
Cons:
The layout of this course is its biggest con. It really doesn't fully utilize the size of the park (which is small as is) and the course plays back upon itself. For example basket #6 is basically where basket #1 is.. I don't need to go into full detail but it happens a few times here. If there were other players on the course it would become dangerous and a big hassle. There is enough open park remaining to spread a 9 hole course out more than it is.
Plays a little too close to the main road for it being so windy, but that's where the trees are. Throw smart and watch for cars, it's not an overly busy road.
No bathroom or trash cans, but it's a quick play so you can handle it.
Other Thoughts:
The teepad for Hole #1 is difficult to find immediately, so here you go: It's Past basket #9 which is right along the parking lot, walking towards the swamp you pass as you drive in (to the right). After that the course is pretty easy to navigate, just look for nearby tee signs.
The rough can be brutal but it is only in play on a few holes. I didn't really get why Hole #6 is laid out like it is since your in-bounds area is the ditch along the main road but I didn't struggle to find my disc there. Also it was very windy when I played and since it's ND it's a constant factor.
I gave this course a 2.0 rating because it is well maintained, has decent signs and baskets and was overall fun to play solo. The layout Really detracts from this course but if no one else is on the course then you shouldn't have difficulties. It could definitely be improved but I'd recommend giving it a go if you've tried the other 3 courses the Bismarck area offers.
