Nellie's is a gorgeous private course nestled in a holler on Butler Mtn. It is a well balanced course with a wide array of challenging shots on a unique landscape with caves, creeks and waterfalls. There are two signature holes with hole 2, "The Boulder Hole", being the beauty of the two. The hole starts open, then into the woods, 400' downhill to a basket that sits atop a ten foot tall boulder (12'x10' on top) with a spring feeding a waterfall draped behind it.
Hole 12, "The Corral Hole", is also a favorite as many enjoy emptying their bag on this 380' downhill shot that plays more like 300'. The picturesque basket sits inside an old corral and after your done running the basket you can enjoy an air conditioned break in Buckeye Cave. You can also enjoy cool cave airs on 18 and get fresh spring water there and "The Boulder Hole".
While it is a lovely walk through these karst country mountains, it is also a decent hike on some fairly steep slopes, so be prepared. The Turners hope you enjoy!
Half open, half wooded. Major elevation changes. Woods are tight but the fairways are fair, open holes will challenge most players with distance and accuracy. Most of the tee pads are carpet and a few are artificial turf. The baskets are mostly DISCatcher Pro 26, with a few being Veterans. Primitive camping available.
