Pros:
-Very nice tee-signs. The give the distance of each hole, show a solid layout of each hole and give the par of each hole.
-The course is very easy to navigate. Other than to the tee-pad for hole 6, there isn't very long of a walk between any of the holes. Most of the tee-pads are really close to the last hole and for the ones that aren't close to the last hole, there are signs pointing to the next hole and the big tee-signs make it easy to pick out the next hole.
-Holes 5 through 9 are a lot of fun. The majority of these shots are fairly tight wooded holes, that require a certain amount of accuracy and force a few different type of shots.
-Lots of ace runs
-Very good course for beginners. None of the holes on this course are over about 250 feet. This is a great course to have at a school because it will introduce a lot of people to the game, without being to punishing. Also, it is nice to have some wooded holes rather than just wide open holes to keep some newer players interested in the game.
Cons:
-As mentioned above, this a very short course. More experienced players will only need a mid-range or putter to play this course.
-A lot of holes play really close to each other. The first four holes play back and forth over each other (hole 1 and 4 play to the same basket). If the course is crowded this could be a big issue but no one else was on the course when we were there so it wasn't a major issue.
-There are quite a few potential safety issues. Several holes play really close to a road. Holes 6 through 9 play close to some classroom buildings and playground areas, which if there are students around could be a big issue.
-As with any other school course, the times you can play the course are limited to non-school hours.
-The baskets definitely need a second set of chains. They do not catch very well and I would be prepared for a few spit-outs.
-The tee-pads are really small and they have gravel in them which can lead to some funny footing. It would be better if the tee-pads were just dirt and not gravel.
-Not a very challenging course. This is a good course for beginners but more experienced will not find much challenge here.
Other Thoughts:
Overall, this is a better than average school course. It is a great course for introducing new players to the game. As long as you don't expect a championship caliber course when you come here, you will have a nice, fun round.
