Pros:

North Park DGC is a pretty basic park nine. The course is totally flat but there are a few trees to contend with at least. The course is all par 3's and the distances range from 170' up to about 300'. Good course for newer players and kids, which I'm sure it was intended for.

The flow is pretty easy to follow. The next tee is usually pretty close to the prior basket.

The park was clean and in great shape both times I've been here now. There's restrooms by the parking lot too.

Homemade baskets on each hole. These don't catch the greatest but they're actually better than they'd appear. They have the hole number attached to the top which is nice.

Cons:

The tee pads are useless. They're about a foot and a half wide and maybe three feet long. I don't even think they're three feet honestly. There's three holes, I believe, that tee off from the walking path which works fine though.

Like I said above, the baskets aren't the greatest. Single set of chains and most aren't level anymore. If you don't rocket putt they'll catch alright though.

No tee signs. Not a huge deal since every basket is visible from the tee anyway but it does make finding the next tee a little trickier. You could just play basket to basket and not miss much though.

The course has a lower, marshy area that runs right down the middle. It sounds like there'll be standing water after heavy rains and it was definitely soggy out there today.

Other Thoughts:

Decent little course. Nothing to go out of your way to play but fun enough if you're in the area. This would be a good one to take a newer player or a child to. Not the most exciting for more seasoned players though.

Short practice course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 16, 2011 Played the course:once

Pros:

Clear markings of Tee boxes. Mapped course guide next to tennis courts clearly lays out course.

This course is a short one. Only needed to use a fairway driver on two holes. This was a great course to practice long approach shots. I used my Buzzz SS, Buzzz, and Impact most of the course, two holes I used my Cyclone off the Tee.

The course allows you to approach most of the baskets from either side. Gives practice on either a Hyzer or Anhyzer approach.

The Tee boxes are all clearly marked White rectangles close to the previous basket. The first is next to the Tennis courts on the road side, and the 9th Tee box is directly behind the 8th basket about 40 feet.

Cons:

For what it is there aren't many Cons. It is a short course in a small park, in a small town, there simply isn't a possibility of having a monster course here. It is great for practicing short approaches.

The Tee boxes are very small, but I don't believe that they could use full sized tees in a park this small, having them clearly marked was all this course needed.

A couple of the holes were simply straight shots, with nothing to avoid, back to back.

Other Thoughts:

It is what it is. No harm, no foul

Small In Town Practice Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 18, 2010 Played the course:once

Pros:

This place is great for new players. Nice in town park with well mowed grass. I think this course will help introduce new people to the game. Good for putting practice for more skillful players.

Cons:

There isn't much to this course. It is short, straight, no obstacles in your way. This is a putting course if you are better than a beginner. It is not very well marked and I couldn't find distances for each hole. I think this information is valuable for new players to find there distance with new disks. Not to fun if you want a challenge.

This course is new so hopefully they put in some signage. This course will never be a challenge. Because it is flat there are no trees or other obstacles.

Other Thoughts:

It would be awesome if they put in a driving range here with distance markers because you could see how far you throw new disks on a flat surface.

Nice 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 11, 2010 Played the course:once

Pros:

YES!!!!!! A course near my cabin! Fun little course in a fun little park. Bring the whole family and have a fun day. Some nice mature trees, nice cut grass. Worth a stop if you are in the area. Hopefully this will spark more courses in the area. This part of WI is beautiful and not all that far from the DG mecca of the Twin Cities. Thank you City of Amery!

Cons:

None, what can you expect from a small town park. It's a course!!!!! It's chains!!!! It's Amery!

Other Thoughts:

Check it out.
