Much improved redesign

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 29, 2023 Played the course:once

Pros:

Cement tee pads on every hole
Most signs are in place and readable
Alternate baskets on a few of the holes
Great use of the pond and trees in the park

Cons:

A couple of wide open shots in a field.
Hole 18 is horrible for safety of other park users.

Other Thoughts:

I played the original 9 hole 2 tee course a couple of years ago and the grass was so thick and had been cut recently that I almost lost discs under the clippings. Well now it looks like it is more on a regular mowing schedule. On top of that, the course now uses the tree grove for 1/2 of the course.

Now you park off the road and have a nice couple of warm up shots before the first of 2 shots over the pond. The water was a little high when I played because a beaver had built a dam at the runoff for the pond. Just a little added OB.

Both water shots are simple hyzers and mostly easy shots. There is a drop zone on hole 3 that does have a sign.

The next 4 holes throw back and forth in the large tree grove. I could tell that someone had OB's marked between fairways, but they were not good enough to see now.

Then you get into where the course use to be, holes 9 to 13 all throw from the edge of the park. These are mostly natural fairways except hole 12 that looks like it was cut in and 13 that is throwing out of the tree sign to the edge of the park.

Hole 14 is an island hole, I didn't see a drop zone, but I played it as an island hole and parked it.

The next 3 holes are mostly open with hole 16 being a very long wide open shot.

Then you have hole 18. It's up there as the longest hole, has a mando 1/2 way down the fairway to keep you from throwing directly at the basket. Doing so would throw over a walking path and PAR equipment. The Mando makes you throw to the left of a large tree and then back to the basket. This is a par 4 hole and would take 2 good shots to really get a chance of the 3.

Would I play here again? Yes I would, this is not a bad course. It's also the only course in the area. You got to drive down to Alexandrea to get another 18 hole course (of which there ar a couple worth playing) For locals, this is a good alternative and worth a stop if you are driving though town.
