Fun course just a few heads up.

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 12, 2024 Played the course:once

Pros:

Well laid out, challenging, short holes, trails well marked, easy to navigate.

Cons:

Large thickets, some steep slopes, no shade, no shelter, no seating.

Other Thoughts:

Distances tend to be 225' or less. Be careful not to throw discs outside of the fence. If you do, you're not allowed to retrieve it and doing so is considered trespassing. A decent to good place to play. Just remember to bring sunscreen because you will be in the sun the entire time and there is nowhere to rest once you start.

Just a beginner drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Dec 31, 2023 Played the course:once

Pros:

Well, this was my first time on here but the course was not long and was really solid. The family had a great time there and we plan on returning soon. I'll update more after that play through. The design was interesting with short holes. This worked for me because my arm does not handle bombs and I prefer finesse courses.

Technical course, lots of birdies

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 11, 2023 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Very fun course that is better the more times you play
Good for players who want shorter more technical shots and lots of birdies are to be had
Scenic course near the reservoir and mountain views
Good signage and tee boxes

Cons:

Potential to lose discs so bring a throw-away for some holes especially 17
Not long throws, longest hole is about 285'
Mandos are annoying, but I see the necessity in the design

Other Thoughts:

Play it more than once and you will get used to the layout and have more confidence
Keep a close eye on your discs as the scrub oak is heavy
Wear boots as there are cactus to watch out for

Fun technical Course drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 4, 2023 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Fun to challenge the limits of your midrange and putter game, great little hike and awesome views.

Cons:

Not great if you want to bomb long drives and love Par 4s. Needs some benches or places to stand/put your bag if you're in a group.

Other Thoughts:

Fun course, good challenge to improve your short game and practice shots you don't always see on a bigger course.

Arm-friendly-yet-leg-scratchy, fun 'pitch-n-putt'-style DGC drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 25, 2023 Played the course:once

Pros:

Great course to work on your ace runs and mid-range throws. Nice boxes, good use of elevation changes. Good course for beginners due to the majority of the holes being only around 200 feet.

Cons:

Easy to lose discs in the scrub oak, and some questionable basket placements close to barbed-wire-boundaried OB sections (where signage indicates you're not supposed to trespass to retrieve discs...but I assume that won't stop many people).

Other Thoughts:

I had fun playing this course, but got scratched up pretty good hunting and retrieving the first disc I threw on hole 1 that landed in the scrub oak. After that I managed to avoid losing any discs and enjoyed the relatively easy nature of the course. I think this course will be better to play when the scrub oaks shed their leaves. I would've liked to see a long downhill throw to end the course and get you closer to the parking lot, rather than the very short current hole 18. I also recommend playing with a group to have more eyes on errant throws.
