Pros:
A course in Troy NY!!
18 holes playable now.
Beginner & intermediate friendly 9 hole loop (Mount Ida nine) has 5 holes in the Park (#1-2, #8, #17-18) & 4 holes on a wooded hillside path (#3-6).
Playing the full 18 hole course:
#7 is more challenging. It plays just beneath the historical TROY sign with a nice view of the local Hudson Valley.
#8 is a open fairway hole in the Park.
Then it's down the hill into the woods for
Holes #9-15, also more challenging.
A good selection that includes a tough narrow fairway(#14) and a tight dogleg right(#12).
Lots of elevation, expect a workout.
#16-18 are back up the hill in the Park.
Concrete tee pads.
Nice tee signs
Discatcher targets
Good parking
Trash & returnable bins.
Benches at many tees
Navigation signs
Cons:
Wooded holes still need a little bit of trash cleanup.
Restrooms? Don't know if they are open and running. I've never tried. Look a little rundown but in warmer seasons there is a port-a-potty.
Other Thoughts:
From park driveway take first right into parking lot near the pavilion.
Kiosk & tee #1 are located at far right corner of lot.
This is a much needed course in the City of Troy.
It's getting a lot of play already and I'm looking forward to its further developement.
A few alternative tees are being considered last I heard.
