Typical school yard course

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 13, 2024 Played the course:once

Pros:

Had all 9 baskets
3 of the holes actually have tree's on them.
A few of the tee's are marked

Cons:

Most of the tee's are NOT marked and would be very hard to find without UDisc map.

Other Thoughts:

This is an example of a course you typically find behind a school. At least it was mowed when I played it.

You have to park and walk thought the fenced ball fields for hole one that is actually marked on a sidewalk. Hole 2 was not marked and threw between the tennis courts and ballfield.

Hole 3 actually had a tee post with the hole number on it. Mostly wide open shot between the tennis courts and school.

Hole 4 is the longest hole on the course. After throwing this one I found a light poll with a mando marked on it. You are NOT suppose to throw over the tennis courts. Oh well....

Hole 5 is kind of an island hole. The basket is located next to a shot putt area and looks like landing in those is considered OB.

Then you get into a few holes with actual tree's. Hole 6 throws down to the basket behind a few large tree's. just don't throw too far right and land in the rough like I did.

Hole 7 was marked and was a simple ace run shot threw some trees.

hole 8 threw back into those trees and plays longer than it looks from the tee.

hole 9 just throws back up to the ball fields with a pitching or batting warm up area to the right and ball field fence to the left.

Would I play here again? Nope, it's just a number for me. with this course being on school property you have to play a round here when school is out and when the fields are not in use.

I gave it one star, mostly because it's a boring course and not marked very well. If it had tee pads and marked better, i would give it a 2 star rating.

It Is What It Is

Reviewed: Played on:Nov 12, 2023 Played the course:once

Pros:

Around some already existing school infrastructure lies RayPec High School's disc golf course. Interrupted by other sporting areas, the course will test your accuracy and possibly your fence-climbing skills.

Defined tee areas, either by white spray paint on concrete, white sprigs on grass, or I assume the dirt patch on 7. Black Veteran baskets in the ground (not temporary like udisc makes it sound).

Elevation is the main positive here, downhill shots to gauge on 5, 6, and 8 plus a challenging uphill on 9 make distance a little tougher to get. Blind basket on 7 behind the mound of stuff adds a fun layer.

The greens of 6 and 8 have some trees guarding the pin. Makes you think about how to approach (go left side on 8, the right side has some small stuff that swats down the hyzers).

Cons:

Seven holes infringe on other sports facilities. Since you aren't supposed to play if other activities are going on, I won't complain about 5, 6, and 9. 1 thru 4 play near fenced areas (baseball and tennis) and 3 also has a parking lot on the left. There is a mando on a light pole on 4, but it's easy to miss.

Navigation can be a bit difficult with no marking above ground. The udisc map is a good idea to have. Hole 3 does have a sign... for some reason.

Lots of openness. 5/6 are wide open except the back-right side of the green of 6. 8 is open until you get to the green. The right side of 1 and 2, and the left side of 3 and 4 have very little to stop you besides a signpost or telephone pole.

Other Thoughts:

There are woods with loads of potential to the east of the course, but I guess the tree removal that would require wasn't in the budget.

This course is a bit forced in around lots of other stuff, and could be tough to get the right time to play the full course during the week. Not one worth going out of your way for.
