Pros:

So, the name of the school is Riverside Middle. I don't know what's more misleading: naming this school Riverside or calling this a disc golf course.
- Such a basic, uninspiring course. There are nine baskets. Most holes are very simple. Even for a middle schooler, some of these holes seem to be below their skill level.
- There are four holes I found enjoyable. #2 & 3 are simple, short layouts, in the 150-foot range. Wide-open and straight that play with the school building on the left and the woods on the right. For some reason, I'm a sucker for these simple layouts. Maybe it's the wistful thinking that I could have had baskets right outside my school or office at some point in the past. Let everyone else take a lunch or smoke break. I'll play disc golf instead.
- As for 'enjoyment', #4 was ok. Same concept as above with the added idea you're throwing towards the woods, so you don't want to go long.
- #5 is fun because there's a tree to the left and (at least when I played) a pile of utility poles to the right side. Having to putt over those poles was at least a change from the monotony of the other eight holes.
- Close to Century Park.

Cons:

Not a good layout. That alone should be enough of a negative.
- Too many open, boring holes. #1 and 9 are just boring. #6 & 7 at least have a hint of elevation while #8 has length. But, nothing between you and the basket.
- If you're not a fan of #2 & 3 because they're also wide open and the utility poles on #5 are removed, then you have a nine-hole course with zero enjoyment. There's your negative.
- Without a course map, this was still one of the easiest courses I've navigated in some time. Pull into the parking lot and the first basket is right in front of you. Just keep walking around to the right, and you'll keep running into the next basket and/or tee signs.
- For a school course, and the idea students may be inaccurate with throws, baskets are somewhat close to fences. If you land on the other side of a fence, you're having to scale 8-foot tall fences, or make crazy long walks around them. Ask me how I know.
- Zero amenities.
- Did I mention it's a boring layout? Even parking a tee shot barely raises the heart rate.

Other Thoughts:

I'll give Riverside the obligatory comment that putting a course at a school can be a good thing to introduce students to the game. Blah, blah, blah....grow the sport.
- As simple as this course is, I kept thinking I was at an elementary school. Do these students also play on 8-foot basketball goals?
- On holes #1 - 5, anything that goes right (or long on #4) can clear the fence and end up in the woods. I foolishly dealt with this on #1. Note to self: don't try throwing a new disc when a fence and woods come into play.
- The course wasn't memorable. It wasn't fun. It's not recommended. It's not worth playing.
- And finally, why would you call a small creek a river? It's nearly a mile away. I've seen streams and water runoff areas bigger than this river.
- Not good at all. Not fun. Not close to a river.
