No, I mean I release the disc from an underhand position. Like slow pitch softball if you've ever seen that. I hold the disc vertical by my side, with the tips of my index & middle fingers on the rim, thumb on top of the rim, then just 'sling' it from that position. The disc is thrown and flies...
As I've continued to practice this new technique I'm not getting the boost in numbers I initially hoped for, but its still an improvement so I'm sticking with it in hopes the trend will continue upward as time marches on.
I play all my DG with just a few discs in hand; that's the way I've found I get the most enjoyment. The course I always play is pretty short so it works with just 2 or 3 DX discs, all under 150g, throw & go, a good walk thru the park. Every time out I make at least one unexpectedly good throw...

I have…today at least. Had a little free time today so I went to my ‘home course’ to get in some practice. Long story short, this is what I saw when I got to #15…cars parked directly in front of the teepad & a wedding set up in the fairway. I skipped that hole :)
