Sorry for the delay, DGCRs. I've got a new infant at home for the first time, and the Wednesday tourney start date snuck up on me (get your predictions in by then, btw).
Open - Pick four players. The order of your selections is not significant. Specify EITHER:
1. A fifth player to add to your predicted list, OR
2. Predict the winner. Getting this right earns 7 bonus points.
Points are awarded to you based on the finishing places of your predicted players:
1st & 2nd place - 5 points
3rd & 4th place - 4 points
5th & 6th place - 3 points
7th & 8th place - 2 points
9th & 10th place - 1 point
Bonus
1. Select EITHER:
a. How many international players will finish in the payout range? (4 points) or...
b. These two:
i. Which international player will finish the highest? (2) and...
ii. What will be the highest finish by an international player? (2)
2. The winner is bound to have one bad hole. How many strokes over par will the winner's worst hole be? If the hole is a par 3, and they take a 7, then you'd want to have said +4. But if you think the winner's worst score will be par, then you'd say 0. (3 points)
3. Who will have the most players in the top 10? Your choices are Innova/Discmania vs. the field. It seems pretty evenly matched in the top 20 or so. (4 points)
4. Let's pretend that many of the top pros have been sandbagging the whole last year, and that this event works on a handicapped system. Predict who will have the best finish, relative to where they should have finished according to their rating. Hint: pick someone whose rating is not in the top 10 competitors (Schusterick might be a good pick, since he usually plays well here, and his rating would currently have him finishing tied for 25th place. McBeth would be the worst choice). (4 points)
Gambles - you may wager up to 20 of your pre-existing points on each gamble
1. Will McBeth, Wysocki, and Sexton all finish in the top 5?
2. Will there be a playoff (including first, second, and third place)?
3. Will the winner be a previous USDGC champion? Past winners include: Climo, Schultz, Feldberg, Doss, Locastro, Schusterick, Brinster, and McBeth.
