Legal to make your own marker?

Is there any other limit in making those but the width and height? Is it legal to use marker of any shape and material (i.e. wood)?
 
It's completely legal to make your own marker out of anything as long as it's in the dimensions.

Thank you for clarifying this! I´ve been playing for a quite a while now with my own marker, never really been sure if it's ok or not :)
Maybe it is soon time to make another, now that I know!
