More international stars in Finland Tali Open 2009

This is great stuff.

When are some Euro DVDs coming out? :D With footage like this it would be well worth the cash to buy a few.

Currently the same guy that filmed Jesper Lundmark and my camera and a part of me on the PDGA home page and edited the Tali and EO vids is editing the footage for commercial release. He's doing this on top of his work and other projects catching up on more captured footage from another project and setting up shooting the moon in a future project. Keep your fingers crossed for future goodies of other projects because the DVD should definitely come out sometime but even better stuff is secured and already filmed in the pipeline and possibly something rad might come in the future. I don't wanna make any timetable guesses because only Juha knows his timetables, capabilities and free time to allot to these projects.

Two Finnish national tour events have been released in DVD form from 2009 Tammisaari having been filmed by Juha (lcgm8 at youtube). He didn't edit it.

Juha wrote to me about the progress and it sounds amazing! I think there are gonna be at least a couple of DG video firsts in this one. He's acquired equipment to start manufacturing but the content enhancements over the youtube clips are taking time. He said that what he's doing is movie like. Sounds great 8) Still no knowing about timetable yet. What I can say is that you want to give him time to do this properly. He's a talent and what I heard he is planning is laborious and worth the effort. It's gonna be a double DVD but better than that sounds. Hush hush for now. I don't know what he wants to reveal. He'll announce what he wants when he wants.

Juha sent a new message and I better not act as his voice here because I thought he was gonna shoot the moon but he's actually trying to found a Mars colony according to his latest message :-D

Edit: This is me being a lens bug in front of one and behind another: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uYVDrOL9wDs
I'm the guy on the right with a green ruck sack that is my disc golf bag and foldable stool. There were a lot of cameras on this hole. At least two more were to the right of me up the hill obscured by the birches in this video.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XfKbV6fWgg4 and later parts showcase the first round of Tali Open featuring Nate Doss. Check out Marcus Råberg he's a young guy who has game. Sorry for overexposure of the automatic mode of my now dead Casio EX-F1. I circumvented the overexposure problem in the final and the European Open (as long as the camera lasted) by manually forcing 1/2000 second exposure time.

Even the mightiest can fall. And there are few equals maybe none mightier than our stumbling hero. Regarding lcgm8s comment on Linus vs Avery and mightiness one has to remember that Linus too is a world champion. He's the only one beating DGR member williethekid in junior world championships a couple of years back.

Not present in this video is Emelie Åström who also has a monster arm so Linus and her definitely seem to have genes for DG. Not every man can match her arm and I've never seen such arm speed and power from a woman even though I filmed Val and Burl among others for a round this year at the European Open. That'll probably be published later as lcgm8 gets time to do that.

We've got a lot on our plates for this year to arrange and wrapping up some projects like frisbeekoulu from last year before the EO gets full exposure on youtube. And stuff I can't divulge yet.

As usual sorry about the overexposure in these early tries of mine with my camera on automatic controls. I adopted a workaround only later in the event. I used automatic controls for speed because I was afraid to miss the throws. As I gained experience and self confidence I moved to manual controls for better image quality.

I think its sweet how you guys compare drives. Seeing Avery and Linus almost having identical form was pretty interesting. Even the other two who clearly had slightly different run ups still released nearly at the same time.

I'm a video junkie, so A+

It's probably almost as cold here as it's in MN so I share cabin fever issues (and freezing my nose off playing regardless hehe). So you're welcome :)

They threw fairly similarly shot planning wise trowing hyzers high letting the fairly stiff winds push on the bottom of the disc toward the pin. That lane is normal for avoiding trees as it is the most open area around the thick trees. When you have the power and want to get a realistic chance at a birdie.

Anders does an inpropper x-step.

Weight back is fine because for this throw one needs to throw up (barf) in about 30-35 degree angle. That's why the left knee not straightening out isn't as bad as with a low line drive. What ain't that helpful is picking up the left leg too early.

X step placement is very funky though and robbing leg and hip power but if one has the arm one can reach that hole in that wind. As an approach shot with eyes on the target all the time that isn't so dangerous but as a regular throw -ugh.

I'm really happy that Linus Astrom is in the Day2 videos. He's got amazing technique... I thought Nate Doss' eagle on 8 from a previous video was impressive, but Linus completely and utterly dominated that hole in the Day2 Pt2 video.

Not to mention the rocket for an arm Linus has on top of technique.

Finnish television station TV2 sends the Finnish Broadcasting corporation edited and partially filmed (they had the material lcgm8, mafa and I filmed as well) compilation of The President's Cup and The European Open 2009 on January 24th 10.30 Finnish time. I don't know if the footage ends up in the TV station's net page. Which is at http://areena.yle.fi/ If the program will be on the net I'll post a link.

Unfortunately the EO footage of TV2 of Finland allows webcast to be watched in Finland. At http://www.yle.fi follow the link under areena and urheilu.

I think you meant http://www.yle.fi :) Here's a direct link to the EO video http://areena.yle.fi/video/702683 but as said, you might need to work some proxy magic if you want to watch it outside of Finland.

Thanks for the correction. Maybe somebody puts it to Youtube? If so that'd be nice. I haven't checked because I saw on TV.

I have no problem watching it, but that may just be because my (large) company is represented in Finland and the proxy is allowed for that reason.

Damn, that is nice produced :)

If any Finns can find a way to rip this and put it on youtube/vimeo or the like, that would be hugely appreciated. I've tried using several proxies to view this, with no success so far.
