I have 10 practice putters that live in my basket at home, and 5 more that live in my portable basket at work. Been thinking I might switch out my putting putter from my bag....

Maintaining normalcy. Other than travel rounds where I had to pack light and only had 2-4 discs total with me, I haven't carried one putter in my bag since 1995. So maybe in my head I say I have a backup or maybe I say I want to throw them both to increase my sample size of how they fly, whatever. The part I don't understand is why you would bag both discs. I will usually bag one until they are no longer identical due to wear, at which point I add the fresh one.
I keep throwing and putting putters separate these days. I used to throw and putt with the same discs, but have definitely had some instances where I warped my putters off a drive and it affected me (a little physical a little mental) using that disc to putt with.
So while I throw the same mold as I putt, they're still different tools for different jobs. I'm not limited in what I have to use, so that's what I'm most comfortable with.

I carry 2 nearly identical putter (same mold, color, weight, plastic, just slightly different stamp) just for putting. I also have one in the same mold but slightly different base plastic for throwing. I like having the dedicated putting putters so they don't get excessively beat up.
My home course (for reasons no one can explain to me) installed these abomination number plates onto the tops of the baskets:I use to be the same way and would throw my putting putter. After watching Yeti's ITB several years ago I started to change my mind. Then I slammed a tree and got a bubble on the one I loved putting with. Forever changed my mind and will never throw my putting putter.

They are thin and my "putting" putter is sliced up like a ham sammich due to those damn things. So much for a smooth and consistent feel because I'm just using it for putting. :\
This is literally what everyone says, and it was as unhelpful when you said it as it had been the 47,381 times I'd already heard it. :|I mean, they are hideous, but don't hit them. Jesus christ.
