Prodigy Disc Thread v2.0

Lightning disc had those same four disc names and from what I am hearing might sue prodigy for using them.

That's what I thought you'd say. No, Lightning had some numbered discs, but they did not have a D1, D2, D3, or D4:

The Midnight flyers were all numbered too. Discmania has discs that are initialed numbered as well. I don't think anybody is (successfully) suing anybody.

You'll never get the EXACT "recipe" the second time around. You could make a very similar blend, though. I really can't see how they could get you for copyright infringement, unless you are marketing it as CE. I'm not a lawyer, though.

that chemir website is awesome, but wouldnt innova just take the new ce plastic their to test if its xopyright infringement an sue?

my bags already full of discs that work for me. so only if I happend to find one sitting at my local proshop, and I think my son would love the color, would I buy something I dont use.

Then you need to look again.
Lightning ProStyle D-1 (#1 Driver)

Looks like the same name to me.

ridiculous....you heard this in your own head I take it?

I'll have to search, but maybe we could start a thread in the equipment forum about molding technology and plastic materials. There is some work involved, but getting a disc concept drawn up is fairly simple. There are many useful resources out there to choose the proper material as well. Use some cavity pressure sensors coupled with an RJG E-dart system and you will have the most consistent molded discs on the market. If only I was brave enough to take out a loan...

I've always wondered the following. What would stop someone from opening a disc golf company named Champion Discs?

West coast is called "Champion Disc Inc" and the east coast is called "Carolina flying disc Inc"

Innova is only a DBA (doing business as)

 Good stuff! Where did you find that?

No I do have the inside to some things.

lol....ok.....if thats truly the case then it makes total since why Lightning failed as a company.

Names on the PDGA Approval Doc
Prodigy D1
Prodigy D2
Prodigy D3
Prodigy D4
Lightning Discs #2 Driver
Lightning Discs #3 Driver
Lightning Discs #4 Driver
Lightning Discs The Driver

hmmmmmm.....idk but seems like this wouldn't even go to court. I own Lighting's D-1 D-2 D-3 and D-4.....and they have the "-" in there. Plus I highly doubt the PDGA would allow a disc to be approved with the same name.

Ya need to search the secretary of state in SC and CA. I dug it up whenever i was arguing with Chuck about after market modification of discs and how Innova East /West are different corporations.. PM me your email and ill send ya the info tomorrow if you want.

I sent you my email. I did a quick search on google after you provided the name I hadn't heard before, Carolina Flying Discs Inc. Found their Manta profile, but there isn't much information being that it is a privately held company. It's very interesting, though.

Carolina Flying Discs was around for a long time; it was Harold's disc wholesale company before he partnered with Innova and people started calling it "Innova East." I still call the shop in Rock Hill Carolina Flying Discs most of the time and people just stare at me with no clue what I'm talking about. It wouldn't surprise me at all to find out that it is still legally the name of the place.
