Merrel Chameleons have been my go to shoes

They're not water proof @ all, but they are the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn.

I resigned myself to buying the cheapest pair of Hi-Tecs that I can find that are waterproof and low cut. They grip great right down to flat and last about a year on 3-5 rounds a week. They lost their waterproofing about 5 months in. I have spent some serious dollars over the years for hiking shoes with much disappointment. I just buy a new pair during the California winter months and by the time they lose their waterproofing it's summer.

I wish Merrell made these in wide sizes, I got a pair and they just don't fit right. i need a wider toe box Now they just sit in the closet.

They are why I've gone back to Keens though, the wider toe box in their shoes just works best for my foot.
