-Actually quite a few. Very pleasant place.
-Good easy learning course 'for everyone'.
-Back half is gorgeous, in the fall especially.
-Very active use for leagues, practice and casuals.
-Easy Parking. Very quick nines or practice area.
-The only everyday northside place to play.
-Several on-line and flagged alternate layouts.

-Ummmm you betcha. Tons of issues!
-Signage is 'Bad to non-existent'.
-Therefore not a 'course' you can just go play.
-Dogs, walkers, bikes, trikes, yikes... it's crowded.
-The few teepads don't always face baskets
-The dirt teepads are unmarked, barely find-able.
-Old Mach 3 baskets. Chain Out City.
-Gotta say it: suffers from lack of a local club!!!

NOTE: i AM UPGRADING TO TWO STARS, as the course is currently lush and mowed and blooming. It's been pretty bad til this spring, so lets hope things are picking up. Santa Fe players are putting in LOTS of work on four courses these days. Ashbaugh Park Disc Golf 'Course'. Sigh. AKA 'A place with baskets'. AKA 'Ash-Balls'. What can I say. This is a very nice little mixed use city park that happens to have several decades of history as a DG course. So the dogs, walkers, etc are part of the deal. But that reality and the very pleasant 'Pros' listed above can't erase the 'Cons' that are just too much to ignore.

Here's what I hope is 'helpful' to enjoy Ashbaugh. First up, the entrance can be a little tricky. Use GPS and look for the brown City Park sign. It's just south of the large Indian School complex and just north of the awesome 'Pantry Restaurant'. Ashbaugh has a front and back half and you can easily park near a practice basket, or an open area to throw big air or in the nicer back area as well.

You can find a few layouts on UDisc. But the easiest way get to nav this confusing course is to come to a LEAGUE event. Wednesday dubs at 5pm meets in the back, all spring, summer and fall. Sunday Singles meets in the front, year-round, at 930am. (NOTE! Both leagues alternate at Arroyo Chamisa off Rodeo on the southside of town. All local leagues are posted about a day in advance on Facebook Group 'Santa Fe Disc Golf'.)

BTW: There is a VERY easy 'red flag 9' on the backside. Good for newbies, ams and upshots.

While Ash is the best practice course, no doubt the southside courses, IAIA, Arroyo and the still being finished Jaguar Ridge courses are more exciting.

So if you just can not enjoy throwing without signs, teepads and a dedicated course, skip Ashbaugh altogether. But it serves a lot of local functions and we have a ton of fun there.

This course is great for learning how to throw a disc. This was the only course in SF at the time I started playing. I really learned throwing technique here. The back half of the course has some great shots that are challenging but also fun. Open field on the first half is great for practicing drives, most baskets have bushes around them so you need to shoot around obstacles.

Course layout is hard to find and signage is almost nonexistent. I haven't played there is years but I can't imagine they have done much maintenance seeing as how it's rated a 1.6. Arroyo on the left is a disc magnet and you can lose discs here; the brush is way overgrown.

I can;t help but like this course but it is hard to play. I usually use the first half (big field) to pick out a basket and practice on. The bottom half is more fun and challenging. Not the best course in SF but one to play none-the-less. Enjoy!
