Solid Golf, No Thrills 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 10, 2008 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

- Challenging shots
- Holes are long but not open with plenty of obstacles

Cons:

- Tees, Signs, Baskets, Sketchiness...

Other Thoughts:

If you care more about amenities, then this is not the course for you. But if you care more about the quality of disc golf, this course has a lot of great shots that will challenge the precision of a power drive and your creativity as a shot maker. It's one of the Metroplex's top 5 courses in terms of play but one of the bottom courses in terms of everything else. I think it's worth toughing out for a cool challenge.

AHH 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Jun 19, 2010 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

All of the baskets are brand new and therefore in good shape. Big arm is really needed here to score well. There are some tight lines to hit as well. Good course to learn how to throw far and play in the wind.

Cons:

The tee signs have just numbers on them. Alot of the tee pads have big ruts so teeing off to the side is needed to avoid a broken ankle. Not many trash cans. Navigatio could be an issue for newcomers. The mowing is still an issue and is why I dont go there alot. you can be five feet from some of the baskets out here and be in waist high weeds or taller. Watch out for snakes during the hotter months. Standing water everywhere after a good rain! It can get very hot out here so bring lots of drinks.

Other Thoughts:

Parking can get crazy if there is people at the nearby pool. Ok course but time has taken it toll.

Audubon is back 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Apr 15, 2009 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

After several years of construction this course is finally back in the ground. some baskets have been moved back on certain holes but course is back to its original layout for the most part.Paths around the baskets and through the fairways are mowed and being kept up.Almost all of the brush and debris around the course has been cut down or removed.New DGA baskets are in as of 12-1-09.

As mentioned below the play of the course favors the big arm with very few holes measuring in under 275-300 ft range(with most being much longer).the course offers an array or mostly open holes with several tight ones to keep your arm in check. There are well placed trees which will make for a difficult tee shot in some places. Holes 4-8 and 10-13 play next to duck creek which can be a disc deathtrap if you find it.There are also a couple of new mando on the back nine( # 12)

As of 5-1-10 holes 4&5 have new pin locations with the baskets having been moved away from the creek. #7 yellow tee is moved across the small drainage creek closer to the blue tee

Cons:

The dirt tees are terrible(and its not just the tees but the entire course is impossible to play for several days every time it rains)

With out proper tees and signage this course will remain difficult to navigate for many player not familiar with the tee and pin locations

Also the creek can be very dirty and has a terrible smell in the summer.

Other Thoughts:

Set in a beautiful, safe, well maintained park Audubon offers a fun round without the crowds of the other courses on this side of the metroplex.

Greatly improved 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Oct 22, 2016 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

I played Audobon years ago, and had a number of issues with the course, much of it due to what turned out to be temporary problems. I (finally) had a chance to play it again. Greatly improved. The layout is good, there's plenty of parking at the start, and the general flow is still solid. There's a wide variety of shots required, some very nice long holes, and some short technical holes. A really positive place to play.

Cons:

There's still a few places where it can get congested during a busy day, and you have to keep your eyes out for other park patrons. But most of the big cons I had have been cleaned up and fixed.

Other Thoughts:

It has taken me far too long to get back and fix my rating for the course. I'm glad the city has put some time and money into the course and the locals are keeping it up. Seems like a great place to play now.

2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 11, 2008 Played the course:once

Cons:

This park was just plain terrible. To start, there were no maps and since I had never been there before, I had no idea where hole one was. After walking around the merky swamp course for about an hour, I finally found a cheap piece of wood with a "1" on it. This park was a ghost town. Other than the scary gang-members hanging out on the park benches in the middle of the course. There was not another disc golfer in site. The creek was dirty and filled with trash. If I had thrown a disc into it, I would't have dreamed of going anywhere near the garbage filled stream to retreave it. And just for the record, I am not a disc golf course snob by any means. I'll play anywhere. But I will never go back to that course again. For a thirty minute drive to go check out a new course that I had not been to, It was a huge dissapointment. I would not recommend playing this course.

be warned to be prepaired to loose some disc in the creek as i have on any occasions .

Cons:

The creek is filled with trash and stinks to high heaven in the summer

Other Thoughts:

Needs help! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Dec 25, 2007 Played the course:never

Cons:

This course was going through some major sewer repairs, that cut off nearly half of the course. There is a creek that runs through it, and it was full of trash. The holes I was able to play were average. The main sign was pretty much crap. I attached a picture of it in the course images.
